This one was against a really good player with 8% ROI over 3947 matches at avg. stake $108, $34k total heads-up winnings, $118k total. So I was already thinking ok, it's gonna end 4:1 - but then I actually won this match, where I jammed QJo against his 88 at about 15 bb eff. in the endgame.  This hand here was early, I made a big mistake later by calling a limp/shove with AJ, but could grind myself back and then finally take the match.Reads so far are that he's checking back some flops, does not seem to fire a 2nd barrel with air (seen him check it down), can check/fold low paired boards and he called my first 3bet and folded on an A-high board.  Overall, he seemed to be mostly tight-passive.This is his first 3bet.  Is this a good hand to defend with ?  I had this feeling that he might just fire one single cbet and then give up - and I'd also get a chance to see how he plays post-flop in a reraised pot.Turn is interesting.  I was thinking about betting a ton of good turn cards if he checks to take this down.  I really did not want to check back and then call a river bet against a guy who doesn't seem to fire a 2nd barrel with air (though, I've only seen this I think two times from him so far). However, this particular turn card gives me a gutshot and a flush draw, so getting check/raised would really suck. When the 9 pairs and also bring the 4th flush card, is that a good spot to get some thin value ? With the QQ: I think your line is good. I'd probably make it 420 pre just to have a little under a potsized bet left (and it's actually a potsized 4-bet, not a big overbet or anything, but 380 is obviously fine. Sucky flop but I agree betting is much better than checking back. Jam or 330/call is fine.

I'd raise more on the flop with your AA - his draws are easily correct to continue. I'd make it 180 or so. I'd probably just jam river - you can rep some missed draws - but I think it's close between that and what you did.

I like a smallish bet on the turn given what you describe. People with this profile rarely check turn here with a big hand, and I think there are draws to get value out of and overcards where it plays better to bet against. I'd bet t200 on the turn against this player, but that's because I'm really not that afraid of getting check/raised by anything less than a flush vs him. River sizing looks good. I'm fine with calling pre but wouldn't call 89o.
