31.50 turbo: Paired board fun.

No Limit Holdem Tournament • 2 Players Hand converted by the official HUSNG.com hand converter BTNPlayer31350 BBHero1650  Effective Stacks: 34bb Blinds 20/40 Pre-Flop (60, 2 players) Hero is BB Player3 calls 20, Hero raises to 120, Player3 calls 80   Flop (240, 2 players) Hero bets 120, Player3 calls 120   Turn (480, 2 players) Hero checks, Player3 checks   River (480, 2 players) Hero bets 240, Player3 goes all-in 1110, Hero calls 870   Final Pot: 2700 Villain is a winning sng player but is new and losing at husngs.  He plays mostly tagg, but does limp a lot from the button.  I haven't attacked a lot of his limps, and I don't think he limps with anything premium often enough to note.  The turn and river line seem really odd to me, and I decided to call.  I'm pretty sure I messed this hand up and should probably have check/called the river instead of raise/call.  What do you guys think?

I don't think you want to be

I don't think you want to be checking this river ever, you have to go for value and can't count on him betting out very often.  This is definitely a strange line but it looks like a slow play,  I think he's just calling the river with anything you beat, you need to be folding here as it doesn't really make a lot of sense for him to be shoving worse hands, unless he's an idiot and would play Q's with a worse kicker this way.  His thinking seems to be to get you to put more money in the pot, doesn't want to scare you off with a raise on the flop, figures if he checks back the turn you may lead on the river and then he can raise there, you do lead, he does raise, you're beat most of the time here.

yeah i agree with kingcobra.

yeah i agree with kingcobra.  i personally like a bet/fold better on this river. i don't think there are enough missed draws or floats in range for bet/calling to be better
