I see that a lot of players have blogs but unsure what benefit it has? has anyone got a blog and how has it helped you? what sort of content should I be putting into a blog if I was to start one?
When I started playing in early 2007, I started a blog fairly quickly. BCM and Phenom already had a blog, Hokie started one, so did Primo and a few others and it was pretty motivating to constantly check the blogs of successful players, talk together and work to improve.Now, that's really the upside of a blog. The downside is that it can be very difficult to make consistent blog entries, and if you want to consistently build up traffic to your blog that is what you need to do.You can use it to state goals and hold yourself accountable on the work ethic side of the goals, you can use it to engage other users, to write opinions or poker related content (take my "improving heads up sng structures" series of blogs), or just for fun (my "Graph Porn" series is an example of that).By the way, we're almost finished with blog.husng.com, take a look if you want, it's still being tinkered with before we roll it out fully, but it should be a superior blog platform for the site.
