Interesting details, about

Interesting details, about everything that was being reported:- Isia steps down within 45 days, until civil complaint is settled.- PokerStars and FTP admit no wrongdoing, are clear to enter into future USA regulated markets (likely by partnering with a casino).- FTP to be relaunched within 90 days.- ROW players to be paid by PS within 90 days.- PTS not finalized, but PS says they will make it fair (transfer to new system?)- PS says they plan to make FTP and PS funds easy to transfer between the sites for players.- This doesn't resolve civil charges against FTP ownership.- USA players to be paid back by DOJ setting up some sort of claims process.- PS will run FTP as a separate site.- PS pays a massive 500m+ fine over the next 3 years.Pretty good stuff and just about exactly what the solid source rumors pointed towards over the last few months. Just excellent news for everybody involved. More money back into the poker economy, money returned that was effectively spent and stolen, FTP comes back, the biggest and best poker rooms in the world cna be a part of future US regulation, online poker regains some legitimacy... good stuff!

Not really. Any company other

Not really. Any company other than PokerStars buying FTP and doing the same as PokerStars plans to do now, THAT would had been amazing news. Stars will now - still - have no competition in the online market and they might 'destroy' the FTP as we knew it. They might just as well ban affiliate-rake-races and the likes as they did on PokerStars all ready. Well, they might just as well cancel the existing affiliate contracts. It is definitely good knews that the money returns to the poker community, but there are lots of uncertainities right now. Let us not forget that the way FTP worked lead them to financial desaster and it therefore is very unlikely that we receive back the FTP as we know it. Also, lots of players sold their FTP bank rolls and have now to do their part of the deal and I wouild take any bet that the 2+2 forums will be flooded with threads like "i bought a bank roll 7 months ago and now I am not getting paid"-threads; which will bring - again - a bad light on the poker community.

Stars still provides the

Stars still provides the lowest rake and best structures. If Party, Ipoker, Microgaming or Ongame bought FTP, it would be worse for poker. Not because there would be less competition, but because it wouldn't likely be handled nearly as well and those companies. And at least in our domain (heads up sngs), all those sites spread worse game structures with higher rake. Also I don't want to see the FTP Casino. FTP and Stars have been (and Stars is) plenty soft for years, without the casino. Now, if you were to say "I wish Zynga/google/yahoo/wynn had bought FTP, it could've been better for players" I agree. But I wish I ran better, so do you and every other player out there. I wish we had a third, better choice for president each election and so on and so on. All in all, pretty darn good news.

Of course I did not wish to

Of course I did not wish to see partypoker or the likes buying FTP, but a 'neutral' party willing to raid the online-poker-world and competitive with Stars would had been nice. Does Stars (still) have a great offer? Sure. But we also have to see it the way it is; did PokerStars change the cash-game rb distribution method once FTP did, got plenty of critism once they did and plenty of players even left, when FTP was still up or 6months after FTP went "out of business"? And that the rake is still pretty big will be confirmed by future actions. When? On every day, on which they increase RB or reduce the Rake overall, because there is plenty of room for it - yet. Of course it does not make sense to lower your income when you get nothing (=more customers) in return. Don't get me wrong; I enjoy playing on PokerStars a lot - more than I did playing on FTP - but competition would had been nice.

So true. Other companies have

So true. Other companies have good rake back but small player pool. Full tilt was very competitive in terms of rake for small stakes players (27% standard + something like 10% in bonus and ticket). Now that pokerstars buy fulltilt is the absolut king in poker market and thats not good as far hopes lowering rake. BUT we should be happy that well get our money back anyway

FT don't gave 27% RB +10%. If

FT don't gave 27% RB +10%. If you bought something in the VIP shop with your points they reduces the cash RB.

Black Card at the end helped,

Black Card at the end helped, but that obviously wasn't for micro stakes guys.I doubt PS is going to lower the player rewards for FTP. It's not like 27% is huge anyways, our deal on Ipoker guarantees you 40%, and you can get up to 60% on it, our Merge Network deal guarantees you 35%, our Revolution deal guarantees you 50%. Probably a few other examples as well, but the point is, PS can do rakeback 27% on FTP and they're not going to be offering a killer deal or anything. The one "but" though is that 27% rb for a microstakes player is more than PS offers with their VIP system. I still don't think PS will change FTP's 27% rakeback though, it was too popular and the brand is recognized with the 27% so well, without a clear reason for changing it, I think they would view that as negative. All my own opinion of course, but I'd bet on them raising the rakeback just as likely as them lowering it.

Amazing news!

Amazing news!

But it ain’t about how hard you hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward. How much you can take, and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done!
