Pbogz November 2013 Leakfinder (Turbo Speed) Part 1

Pbogz reviews play for a friend and student at the low stakes turbo games. The match has no reads to begin with, so Paul discusses how to adapt as new information becomes present.

Hey guys, One slight

Hey guys, One slight adjustment to the 42 vs q7 hand. I have the 7 of diamonds in my hand which I didn't account for while doing the math. Opponent would have 8 outs to the flush and 5 extra outs. Making it 13 total, which makes the hand basically a coin toss :)

Your equity works out at

Your equity works out at 53.7%.
Given the pot is something like 2600 chips & your edge is 3.7% is it not fair to say the call is actually +ev by about 100 chips?
Although I agree that when calling blind this equity is balanced out by him having a better non flush drawing hand.
BUT I agree very much with your analysis that it is the flush draw +\- a low pair which behaves like this. Any Qx or 2 pair should not take this approach as it is much more plus ev to be able to play on the next 2 streets and with the aim of bluff inducing and calling/raising while pot controlling if the flush hits with the option, of course, of winning a big cooler if you also manage to make a full house.
SO I feel that, on balance, the call was good. But only just.

I think that hand is very

I think that hand is very interesting, i play hyper turbos HU only so do not have experience in Big Blinded matches but i think it is hard not to call there........Against an obvious fish i think they have a draw there such a large percentage of the time (have not done the math but the only two pair combinations are Q2 and Q3, 23 is not in their range as they limp the second hand therefore they will probably not have a close to 100% BB VPIP. Also if they are a super fish  (not sure what levels you are playing) then 45 is in there range, not a high percentage chance even a super fish would do that but worth a thought. Villain just happened to also have a pair + flush draw and with having a flush draw without a pair it would be a clear call. It is also worth being aware that Villain could have an over card to your top pair + the clear top pair better kicker although i think check raising it that large i think is very unlikely. Interesting hand and if you did all the math and ranges i think it would be pretty close, i just think villains range of a flush draw is too big to fold.
With the A2o offsuit hand it lierally does not matter that they did not go all in as the chips would have 100% have gone in postflop anyway, maybe you thought Hero limped.
Great video though, looking forward to the next one!

Thank you for the

Thank you for the feedback,

I agree that flushdraws are a big portion of his range and I did mention the possibility of him have a flush draw with a (khigh) that would give him extra outs. With the flush draw and pair, it gets really close. Also on the A2 hand, not a big deal, but when the opponent bets almost all his chips, no reason not to just go all in..

8 ( amount of outs to flush draw) ( I have 7x)
5 ( remaining outs to hit a pair)
13x 4 ( using the 4-2 rule is 52%)
So it is really close!!
