Improving Ipoker's Heads Up SNG Super-Hyper Turbos
August 17, 2012 - 23:27
As mentioned in several other threads, Paddy Poker has a very attractive hyper turbo structure, one on the same level, perhaps even better to some, than PokerStars/Full Tilt hyper turbo structures.
The Paddy games start at 800 chips and 10/20 blinds, going into 15/30, 20/40, 30/60, 40/80, 50/100 and 60/120. Rake is also 2% across the board.
Now, these games will generate more rake per hour for the poker room than other heads up sit and go games, are very low edge per game (good for casual player) but also profitable for professionals.
Paddys has seen success with these games. Players good, bad, new and experienced have voiced support for these, it's a good time to let Playtech (Ipoker) and all the major skins know of the potential of this superior structure.
This thread will be a discussion on the positives and negatives of this structure, if you feel it should be implemented network wide, what buyin level you play and anything else related. This will be a thread to show the Ipoker network and major skins as well.
Once we have some posts in this thread, we can begin contacting the major Ipoker Skins with a link back to this thread and our own opinions of the proposed changes.

If the structure is that
If the structure is that good, it definitely should be implemented network wide. Not at least, because Paddy is very strict with regulations - even those that are not put in stone yet - and therefore has an imageinable small player pool. For example; all german players have been blocked on paddy power poker at the end of June due to the regulation (in progress) in germany. What if Russia or another big country comes up with a regulation and Paddy removes the player even before it is defined if the regulation in this country is valid or not? Even if the rake is great, I would not like to play on a platform with a playerpool that might be cut in half from one day to another.
Below the email that has sent to all german players:
As you may be aware, the German government is in the process of introducing new regulations for online gaming. Therefore, Paddy Power has taken the decision to suspend accepting bets from customers located in Germany. As our records indicate that you are accessing your Paddy Power account from Germany we will unfortunately have to block your payment mechanism and in turn close your account with immediate effect. In order to arrange for any withdrawal of funds you will need to contact our Customer Service team. All long term bets will be left outstanding and settled when the market closes. We appreciate your custom and hope that your experience with paddypower.com was an enjoyable one. If you have any questions about this decision or your account in general please feel free to contact our Customer Service team using the details below.
disclaimer: not being German myself, I only can copy this email from the pokerstrategy.com-forum.
Did anyone do the calculation of effective rake yet and compared it to the pre-existing heads up sng?

I contacted PaddyPower and
I contacted PaddyPower and William Hill online supports last night, as well as emailing both and Titan, about this change. Also emailed iPoker themselves with a link to the thread showing other players' thoughts on existing structure and what needs to be done about it. Hopefully this will be changed soon

This is the best ST structure
This is the best ST structure I've seen so far. It starts deeper than most but the blinds advance very fast so it should still be an average game time of 3-5 min while avoiding the <10bb area for as long as possible.
As long as the rumors of iPoker banning winning players and setting up maximum winnings quotas aren't true, I'd love to play this structure when I'm outside the US. Even if Merge finally fixes their STs and adds the 30/60 + 40/80 levels, I may prefer the PP structure.

Maybe we should a) relocate
Maybe we should
a) relocate this thread
b) rename it
The original thread - where you posted the link to this thread - had twice as much views as this one. Since I doubt that nobody is interested in changeing the situation for the better, the result of this thread is very disappointing.

Are we even in contact with
Are we even in contact with other communities? The german HU SNG community for example is not that small, but the players have recently lost their right to play on PaddyPowerPoker. Many still play on the iPoker-network tough and since they surely would love to pay very little rake in NETWORK games, the right people should be able to mobilize a wave of requests to iPoker and / or their current skins.

Well, I've received emails
Well, I've received emails back from Titan, Paddy, William Hill and iPoker themselves, saying they "appreciate the feedback and will take them into consideration".

Speculations are that William
Speculations are that William Hill will quit the iPoker network during the next months. Any toughts about that? I believe it would be really desasterous for iPoker if that really would happen.

As I heard William Hill
As I heard William Hill online is a venture of William Hill and Playtech, playtech holding 29%. But, if i am not wrong, this venture come with a full payback option of William Hill within 5 years, which would be end of this / beginning of next year if i am not wrong.
Regarding pokerstrategy. Sorry, not gonna be able to do that.
