How to spend FPP's on Pokerstars

Does anyone have any advice on the best way to spend FPP's on pokerstars? Not sure whether I should be saving them up, or using them as I get them. I searched around the net for anwers on this but struggled to find anything recent. It would be good to know the best way to get actual $$ value out of them.

So I assume that is winner

So I assume that is winner takes all?
Is there anything with a bit less variance? I'll check out all the sats - I used to just play a single table turbo though and the winner took down cash. It was fast, easy to play and would often come out with $$$

thanks Cdon, i'll just cash

thanks Cdon, i'll just cash each 1000 FPP i get in for $10, that sounds best to me. I'm sure there is better value in some of the sit and gos in terms of $ per FPP - however all of those options take time & focus, i'd rather just get guarunteed money that I don't need to spend any time on. I could better use that time playing HUSNGS.
Cheers

That's what I've been

That's what I've been doing.
Rakeback is pretty lolbad until you get to higher VIP status and are playing for serious money.
At which point rakeback is pretty lolbad relative to the absolute size of the swings.

Oh no, no, no. You cannot do

Oh no, no, no.
You cannot do that, it is a terrible, terrible, terrible, terrible, terrible, TERRIBLE......(!) thing to do!
As you rise in stakes, you will pay more rake, get more FPPs and will get access to better awards. There are ONLY two reasons, to cash in 1000 FPP for $10
1) You stop playing on pokerstars and cannot get any better awards
2) You are flat broke, own nothing at all, except for exactly 1000 fpp on pokerstars, Heidi Klum knocks on your door and offers you to fuck the shit out of her for $10.
If you want to add money to your bankroll in order to move up stakes, and you need the reward in order to do so, just count it to your bankroll. You own the money, even if it is in another "currency".

What do you do with your FPPs?

I like grinding satelites,

I like grinding satelites, but then again I have been a 6max/9max player for most of my poker life.
If I do not feel like grinding the sats, I am spending them mostly for gift certificates. I also do not wanna judge players for spending their money on cash rewards. The higher ones are very very good, in regard of the fpp / $ ratio. But even for a beginner, there are much better ways to spend fpps, then for the low cash rewards.
For example, the new certificates for Professionalpoker.com, have an excellent ratio. 1650 gets your $25 worth of a certificate. For the $25 cash reward you have to invest 2250 fpps. If you need the books, why would you go for the money instead? It is just another currency.
If you want to play in tournaments, get the tournament tickets. 700 fpp will get you $11 worth of a ticket.
If you want a pokerstars tshirt, go for the tshirt and if you want a rafael nadal usb stick, go for the stick. I am certain everything has a better price fpp / $ ratio then the $10 cash reward.
Knoxxxy does not seem to be the kind of player, who wants to play tournaments or grind satelites, so, if i were him i would save up the fpp. Actually, that is not true...back, when i "were him" (unexperienced and new on pokerstars) i have bought this $10 sh*t as well...

Hi.

thanks for the info

thanks for the info Barrin.....
The $11 tournament ticket sounds like a good idea, then I can play the $10 super knockout heads up tournaments with it.
Or should i just not bother with that and save them up like you said...If so, what exactly am I saving them for?
Cheers

The $11 Ticket is a Storm

The $11 Ticket is a Storm ticket. I am not sure, if you can use it for other tournaments as well.
You saving them for a better $ / fpp ratio. As you can see, for 7000fpp you could have bought $70 of cash rewards or $110 worth of tournament tickets. The gap is huge.
On pokerstrategy.com they did have an overview:

now, I am not saying that all the numbers are still 100% correct, but most of them are and as you can see there is simply no reward with a worse  $ / fpp ratio than the $10 cash rewards.

Play some satellite of 6max

Play some satellite of 6max for Sunday Storm and also some other event,  it costs 250FPP. For every 700 FPP there is 11 dollar tournament money. It is very easy, I won 1 out of 2 and I played many. That mean I made 11 dollar on average for 500 FPP. One time, I made it by not even seeing one flop (-:. Mostly if you double up once, you are already going to make it.

better value is from storm

I agree on this. Even if you

I agree on this. Even if you are only an average player in these you get the 11T$ 1/3 of the times.. And the competition in these are usually nothing to be afraid of, and with just a little studying of ICM you should be able to get the ticket more often - Making this as good as buying the 1600$ SN bonus :)

Yes, those sats are good, BUT

Yes, those sats are good, BUT only if you know how to play tournaments. If you are a total tournament fish, you will never receive $11 for your 11T$ ticket.

I agree with the tips before

I agree with the tips before me, not a good idea to buy the lowest cash bonus.
I'm playing mid stakes hypers currently, and I'm just saving my fpp's until I get supernova next year ,
and from then on will spend them on the biggest (best $/fpp) ratio cash prize, I think this is the best option for semi serious players.
I think playing sats might be better for 6/9max players who are playing the same game basically.

There's a way to make a

There's a way to make a bigger return on fpps...wait for the vip store sales (i think they have them on february and august), then go
for the special edition things. I myself bought 2 tag heuer (69k vpps each) watches and 2 citizen watches (11k fpps each), then I sold
the tag heuer watches for 1140 eur each and the citizens for 265 eur each. So i got 2810 eur for 160k fpps, whereas If i had changed
those fpps for cash I would've got 2112 eur (this is using the conversion of .0132 eur=1 fpp, from the 1650 eur bonus for 125k fpps)
Looks like they're out of tag heuer watches tho, but they still have the citizens that are way easier to sell.

My guess is that people would like the cases for iphones or ipads, so those would be easy to sell as well.

It's pretty obvious from

It's pretty obvious from Barrin's chart, that you should save up your FPP's for the Porsche Cayman S, far the best $/100 FPP ratio. Ofc always keep 1000 FPP's for Heidi...
