good play or too tight and passive?

No Limit Holdem Tournament • 2 Players Hand converted by the official HUSNG.com hand converter BTNHero845  BBDagd'Bog2155  Effective Stacks: 17bb Blinds 25/50 Pre-Flop (75, 2 players) Hero is BTN Hero raises to 100, Dagd'Bog calls 50 Flop (200, 2 players) Dagd'Bog checks, Hero bets 140, Dagd'Bog calls 140 Turn (480, 2 players) Dagd'Bog checks, Hero checks River (480, 2 players) Dagd'Bog bets 300, Hero folds Final Pot: 780 Dagd'Bog wins 780 ( won +240 ) Hero lost -240The villain is calling 27% and c/r 33% I have gone to showdown with him twice after he's c/r and both times he had tp, so I would guess that his range here is 8x,9x or a draw? I checked back the turn because all I thought that th only hands he might call me with here that were worse was a J is this to tight and passive? On the river I think he is going to check any 8 or 9 and bet any straight is this to tight a fold?

Given your line, the river

Given your line, the river fold seems like the best play when we consider his sizing which is very rarely a worse hand thats betting for value.Im not sure about the turn. You might get value by betting somewhat small and you can easily check back the river if he calls. He might make a stupid call with a few worse hands (Jx, Q9, Q8) but I guess its very thin and not really sure if its that great. Would really like to hear comments of experienced hu sng players on that turn check.
