$3.50 Hyper HUSNG - Suggestions for better play?
$3.50 Hyper Turbo HUSNG on PokerStars. First hand villain openfolded from the Button, second hand I folded from the Button. Also haven't seen this guy before. So no reads or stats available. I was pretty tired while playing and I know for sure that my play was just horrible. But what do you guys think that I should have done in this hand?

$3.50 HU Hyper

Hello errorpoker,

Personally I like your 3 bet as your ahead of his limping range but perhaps it is too high, more around 55/60 and then if he raises to 200 you can get away from the hand easier, as you are less likely to be pot committed. When you call the 4 bet I take it you are hoping for a queen or king, personally I would make a tight fold as you are readless and it is early on. The alternative play is a 5 bet push and hope he has Jacks or a lower pair and you are in a coin flip. Calling the 3 bet does make you even more pot committed and is my least favourite option of the three.

Finally, having missed the flop I prefer a check/fold as you have missed the flop and an ace is a definite scare card. Though I suppose you felt pot committed and tried a stop go strategy.

Hope this was helpful.

Easy fold pre flop readless

I wouldn't give anyone credit for being capable of limp-raising as a bluff readless.

You're usually going to be up against the very top of his range [KK+,AK], of which you can't even being happy about stacking off if you hit the flop because his range has you crushed.

Agree with raising the limp and the comments about it being too big => you're actually making villain's awful play of limping AK, really good when you raise so big (he can only continue with his limp to trap range). I think this is an easy fold pre flop when he takes a limp-raise line, followed by a note that villain is capable of limping strong.

Be happy about folding here, chances are you have a fish all to yourself heads up :)
