$31.50 reg speed - Trips in a tough spot.

No Limit Holdem Tournament • 2 PlayersAxolotyl Room - Heads Up, 44183729 Buy-In: $30+$1.50 Hand converted by the official HUSNG.com hand converterUp to this point, villain had not 3 bet me pre, and was calling around 45-50% of my BTN raises (pretty small sample).  The two times he had top pair, he donked out 50-60% on flop, then continued if the turn was lower than his pair, or checked called if the turn was higher.  Whenever he had checked, I cbet and took it down.  I thought at this point that he will donk any street when he has top pair or better.  On the turn 5, he didn't lead out so I was betting for value from 3X / 4X / mid to high card floats.  Although this was the first time we had got to a turn card, I assumed he would lead if he had a straight.  I chose to go big with sizing because I didn't think I would get more than one street of value.  When he didnt check raise, I didn't know what to think of his range, but it seemed weak.  Obv when I hit river 5 and he lead overbet shoves I'm so confused on what the best play is here.  He had only lead with value so far, but my thinking was, could he be doing this with 5X? And why didnt he lead or check raise the turn?  I ended up folding because I felt there were more full houses and straights in his range, than 5x and (almost non existent) bluffs. Would anyone call the river here, or play the hand differently given what I knew about the player?    BTNhero1042  BBfancissr1928  Effective Stacks: 52bb Blinds 10/20 Pre-Flop (30, 2 players) hero raises to 50, fancissr calls 30 Flop (110, 2 players) fancissr checks, hero bets 50, fancissr calls 50    Turn (210, 2 players) fancissr checks, hero bets 160, fancissr calls 160    River (530, 2 players) fancissr goes all-in 1688, hero folds    fancissr wins 2208 ( won +260 ) hero lost -260

Your analysis is pretty good

Your analysis is pretty good but I think the turn bet is too thin. I agree that you generally have the best hand and his range includes a lot of overcard hands and 3x/4x but we shouldn't expect him to pay off such a big bet with those hands, and we can't rule out him having a straight, A5, two pair, etc. If I was going to bet the turn for value I'd bet half pot or maybe a little smaller to try and keep in his 4x hands and not lose much against his 2pr+. River looks like a clear fold.
