PokerStars to Add More High Stakes Lobbies Soon?

February 04, 2011 - According to a recent blog post by German heads up sng pro Chris "Plauzee", PokerStars is working on adding more lobbies in the high stakes heads up sng buyin levels.  "It's [PokerStars] next big project" he reported after returning from the 2011 PCA.

Since then, PokerStars VIP Manager Steve has been quoted on twoplustwo as saying "This report sounds like a result of a gross misunderstanding."

We followed up with former HUSNG coach Bryan "PrimordialAA" Pellegrino, who was at the PCA and discussing this very issue with a member of PokerStars management.  He clarifies that he was told that adding more lobbies was "next on the list of things to do."

However, there is still some conflicting information on whether or not the addition of new tables at the high buyin heads up games is really going to happen.  A source in PokerStars management tells me that the number of lobbies available for heads up sngs is not being actively discussed within the company, but that it may be looked at down the line given the reaction to this issue since Plauzee's post.  He also tells me that there are a number of significant sit and go projects in the works at PokerStars, but none of them have anything to do with adding more lobbies in the high stakes buyin levels.  No further information on the lobbies nor upcoming projects was available.

Let us know how you feel about the potential changes to the lobbies in our comments section below.
