HokieGreg Questions For Upcoming Video (Ask a Question by Tuesday)

Hokie is going to be trying out a new video format, where he answers your questions.  If you've ever wanted to ask an experienced professional HUSNG player any question, this is a great opportunity to do that. The focus of the questions should primarily be non strategy.  Due to the audio format, questions such as "how do I play this hand?" are probably not best.  Hokie is happy to answer anything, but some preference may be given for tilt control/motivation/life balance/getting more out of sessions-type questions. We have scheduled this video Q & A to take place Tuesday afternoon (US time) and the completed video will be available to standard and premium members.

really cool idea, im a micro

really cool idea, im a micro stakes player and i guess my question for hokie would be how do you stay motivated to grind after say winning 3 or 4 games in a row? normally when this happens i kinda get that fear of losing what ive won and feel like ive done enough for the day, when in reality i know volume is the key but cant get past that stumpling block in my head, i really feel this is one of my biggest leaks at the micros and is stopping me from progressing as a player. anyway thanks for doing this and thanks in advance if you pick this question

Did you ever grind somewhere

Did you ever grind somewhere else than your house/room because it helped you motivate/focus more?I'm asking because I think it helps to wake up and get up relatively early and go to some public place with your laptop and just grind there. It will probably feel like you have something to do on a day instead of waking up in the afternoon and staying indoors all day long.Feel free to interpret the question otherwise and answer it elaborate.

Thanks for doing this.

Thanks for doing this. I have two questions.1. What separates winning small stakes regs from players who can beat $100s+?2. Would you recommend learning Hyper Turbos and what do u think about the BR management for HT ?

Do you try to have some

Do you try to have some structure in your poker career? By this I mean do you try to play say 2 sessions a day, getting in x amount of games each time? Or for a certain period? Or do you just go with the flow of how you feel? It seems, atleast for me, I need a little more structure to poker, considering that there is absolutely non in it to begin with.Thanks-Jay

How do you cope mentally with

How do you cope mentally with moving up through the levels in terms of monetary value? Do you have some kind of mental strategy or way of thinking about it? For instance I usually get a bit daunted by the prospect everytime I move up. Even though the skill level doesn't seem to change much from just one stake below, but obviously the monetary value usually doubles and scared money syndrome sometimes kicks in even though I'm well rolled for it...

Do you have any tips how to

Do you have any tips how to keep your mind focused while playing long sessions? I can play with full concentration for about an hour but after that quality of my game decreases - I start auto-piloting. Do you have any tips how to become better at playing 2 tables. I stop noticing a lot of things about villains' game and end up not adjusting properly. Especially if villains are doing something unusuall, taking non-standart lines. As a result my edge decreases significantly.

Thanks for doing this

Thanks for doing this Hokie.I've read that during your career you had large losing/breakeven period. Can you give some good advice to low/midstakes players who are still learning a lot how to deal with those periods? For me it happens that I start to question every aspect of my game and I start to feel very insecure in my game. That probably leads toward that I change something in my game that was good before. Also what kind of learning would you suggest for players on 30$/60$ dollar level who still cant afford to hire a coaches for more intense learning?

Sorry about this. If you've

Sorry about this.If you've been following our video schedule thread in the member forum, you'll see it's been pushed back a few times. This isn't due to laziness on Hokie's part or anything of that nature, he actually recorded a few tries and wasn't comfortable with the format.  He felt it would be a much better article so he plans to have that posted on the site no later than Tuesday, as a free article.
