Faarcyde's Spin And Go Part I

This video is the first of four parts in which Faarcyde dives into Spin and Gos, the new three-handed format on PokerStars that has gotten attention, and no shortage of controversy, for its randomized prize pool. Faarcyde two-tables and looks at the various ways in which this format, and the strategies that apply to it, is different from traditional HUSNGs or 6-max.

Here are the other parts in this series:

Is this the new format we are gonna get teached?

Hello, when I put my key, and appears a start and I can not change, this is my key Product ID D9AA-6C30-93A3-9985-859D-2896-B3DE-4CF3. What can I do?

I'd love to see at least some

I'd love to see at least some basic strategy videos about these, fundamentals about 3-handed play. I've only played husngs for years and never tried any other format so I have no idea what I'm doing until I'm heads up.

Yes and yes. These games are

Yes and yes.

These games are here to stay and while there is a lot of debate on the variance in the games and how profitable they are vs other formats, they are clearly profitable and popular.

They have increased the the

They have increased the the rake by more than double and have added one player while keeping the short stack hyper format. Respectfully, I seriously doubt that these games are profitable.

The levels are 50% longer

The levels are 50% longer (3min instead of 2) so this should make them beatable even with higher rake. When these things get headsup you are often even deeper than hyperhusngs.

Hypers with double rake are

Hypers with double rake are beatable. Super profitable? Not really, but definitely beatable.

The rake for hypers is more than double on .FR sites, but players still make profit. The playerbase is fishier there. Same with spin and goes. Plus as the post below me says, spin and goes offer a little more depth.

The argument should really be if these are more profitable than say 6 max hypers or low stakes MTTs. I highly doubt they are as profitable as HUSNG hypers, but HUSNG hyprers have been one of the more profitable games for years now. It's a high bar to compare new structures to hyper HUSNGs. Why not compare to turbo HUSNGs?

But of course I think rake should be lower. I see the same "300-500 million dollars" that sites like PS are making as publicly traded companies. Margins are certainly not low in the casino industry, look at other publicly traded gaming companies. I think acquisition from bigger companies of smaller has created an environment where gaming margins are pretty high right now. Regulation also creates a barrier to entry, so that new, smaller, more lean operations can't just jump in and offer a competitive product.

Any idea on how "My CNet

Any idea on how "My CNet Adjusted" works with spin and goes??, i mean if a player opens 2 15usd spin and goes where one has  30 usd prizepool and the other has a 90usd prizepool  and he gets dealt 55 in both tables and open shoves in both of them and villain calls in both of them with lets say AQ.

Will hero have the same "my cnet adjusted" for each game??

I think you want to use chip

I think you want to use chip EV, not cnet. Cnet would take into account prize pool, which you don't want. Chips I believe, would ignore prize pool, which you want.

That said, I think there are some issues with the EV for 3 mans, so I would not hold any data too highly.

Hopefully there is some other input here too.

Under what subscription are these videos available?

These are entirely free. We

These are entirely free.

We may do a spin and go pack in the future, as these games are looking more and more to be quite profitable (it seems a lot of the haters were entirely wrong, just like they were about hyper turbo HUSNG when they came out), but for now we're putting out free videos and talking with smart players and grinders in these games to get a far better idea of how things will play out.
