Newff - January Results

Well January is over so it’s time to post my results for the month. This month has been amazing for me. My bankroll grew, I had my best month ever profit wise, I met some great people to talk poker with online, and my game improved a lot. I started the month hoping to become a $31.50 reg and was not very confident that my shot would work so well, and I ended the month a reg in the $52.50’s. I feel like I’m playing for money that means something now..it was hard to take it so serious when I was grinding the $10’s but I knew I had to.

I have so much stuff to listen to, watch, and read in February to help my game…especially the sessions that PrimordialAA and Croixdawg recorded during their Haiti charity coaching sessions, this stuff is pure gold and it’s a great thing that they done and it’s good to see so many other 2+2′rs contribute to the cause.

The past few days my game has been off and on and I’ve definitely been autopiloting at times but things went well but I have slacked a little on working on my game this month and now feel the need to get back at it to stay fresh ans motivated. Learning new things really makes me want to play and gives me greater confidence and keep me playing well.

Well here are my stats and graph for the month, all numbers are with rakeback included.

246:      $31.50’s = $1471            ROI: 17.7%

86:        $52.50’s = $843               ROI: 17.4%

16:        $43’s (4-Man) = $272

Cash/MTT: $90

Total Profit:  $2586

Sick graph. How are 50s compared to 30s to you? Do you see much of a difference?

Your blog gives me a lot of inspiration because I’m basically in the same place as you were couple weeks ago. Moved my way up from 5s to 30s with roi >10% in all of them. Right now I have BR to play 50s but still hesitating.

 Good luck and keep posting!

xSCWx, It's hard for me to get big volume in because I can only play for half of each month because of work. I'll spend this month grinding the 50's because I only played around 80 games there so far, and then hopefully in March I'll move to the 80's if I do well.

adastfe, the 50's are really no different than the 30's other than it may take a few minuites longer to get a game, and once in a while a reg may sit you to put you to the test.I find it kind of scary moving up even when overrolled but once you do make the move it only takes a few games to get comfortable with the bigger buyin..just take like a 5 buyin shot..if it don't work out you can easily win the 5 buyins back at the 30's and try again. I'm glad you like the blog.

I've also enjoyed reading your blogs.

What level did you begin playing at? I just purchased the beginers pack and plan on trying to work my way up from the micros. Any advice you can offer will be welcomed since you've experienced it before.

I started playing at the $10.50's. I like Primo's Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced series a lot for getting to know some fundementals and the rest of the videos are great for showing you situations you will run in to when playing. Just watch videos, and read the HU forum on 2+2 and you should easily beat the lower limits. I honestly don't find much of a difference at the 50's than the 10's, fish are fish but you get less people just open jamming and stuff.
