Skatesblog: LAPT ME Results!

Busto in 14 minutes.  I'm the best!

So play starts 5 handed because of course people aren't on time.  Luckily for me, all of the breakfast places weren't taking any more orders so I had to hit the snack bar and go right to the tournament site.  I sit down.  3 middle-aged men who looked like hobbyists and one young looking guy to my immediate left.  200BB to start, blinds 50/100.

First hand I look down at 77 and BB is an empty seat.  I open to 350, and young guy with shades pumps to 1150.  Obv I flat because my hand is sooooo good there.  Flop Q65r, I check/call 2200 and am ready to call down the board.  Turn comes Kx completing the rainbow.  I think about donking out (so good...) but decide I have more equity picking off bluffs.  Goes check/check.  River 4.  I'm ready to fold to a small bet, and call any large ones because turn check looks like pot-control lots and if he's bluffing he's not gonna bluff small considering that I'm sitting there looking chill as always.  He fires 4200.  Obv I gotta call since no way this guy is gonna bomb anything less than Qx for value and I'm not all that convinced he's firing QJ.  He shows 65, fine.

So I'm down to 13k, but win I think all but one of the next 5 hands so back to 14k.  Another guy sits down, and now I'm in the cutoff, middle-aged guy in button, young guy in SB, BB is still blank.  I look down at 99.  Open to 350, young guy pumps to 2200.  Yeah, okay, I'm not gonna fold.  Ever.  I am, however, going to let him play the level game.  I 4ball to 7200 and snap the jam, saying something like "Well that's unfortunate...".  AKo.  Door card Ace and I'm out.
