xSCWx Video 26 - Three $57.50 turbo PLO HUSNGs on Stars

In this video xSCWx players 3 $57.50 turbo speed PLO games on Stars.
xSCWx note: PLO is a secondary game for me so it isn't as strong as my hold 'em, and I really underestimated how difficult it is to talk about in a video. With twice as many cards to talk about it took me a little practice to stop stuttering. As a result, the video is chopped a bit less professionally than my others. On a more positive note, I think that the video shows general concepts as to what to expect from PLO and what it takes to beat the competition in these games.

REBTgenius says:
Greetings xSCWx,
I just finished watching the vid and it exceeded my expectations. For one thing, I didn't notice any stuttering and thought you did a really good job with the video's pacing. You seemed to strike a good balance between the demands of providing sufficient explanations with the time constraints imposed by the nature of the game. I feel like I walked away with a lot of useful knowledge.
In particular, I think you made good points about the heightened importance of position (as you can decide to play for stacks or not) and about staying away from hands were you could be drawing dead early in the game. I liked your muck on turn to bigszeles11's min raise when you had JsQc4c2d (on a TcTd3sKc board) and the explanation for your decision.
Also, I liked your observations about CrackhAAd. From the astute observation that he was probably a Holdem player based on his screen name, to noticing early on that he was weak and could be exploited with c-bets, the way you profiled him and gauged his tendencies was fabulous. I'm going to try to keep a perceptive eye open for these little clues.
I was a little surprised by your all-in river bet with Qs6s9hQh on the Jc4c6c6s4s board. This guy just seemed so passive. When he called your turn bet I thought you'd shut down on the river. Your explanation for betting all-in made great sense, especially against this opponent. In conclusion, I think this was a very solid video and I enjoyed it tremendously. I hope you make more Omaha vids in the future.
Thank you,
Jeffrey

With all due respect to xSCWx....why is a person who has played a total of 14 plo husngs' and has lost money....
professionally making a video to teach others.
Sorry Ryan, but just the same this is disappointing. I appreciate you getting someone to do a video for PLO but please
get someone who actually is a solid winner and who actually plays the games.
Hopefully this is constructive.
xSCWx says:
I played HU PLO cash as my main game for a while about a year ago. I don't recall playing any PLO SNGs recently aside from the 3 in this video, so the other 11 are probably at least two years old if not more.
RyPac13 says:
It could be constructive, unfortunately too much of this is incorrect to be so.
1) I see multiples more PLO husngs played on xSCWx's accounts than the 14 you give him credit for.
2) It does show him down about 1k, I believe, but you can see he lost 3 in a row to a single player in the $500 level about a year ago.
3) If the concepts are good, nothing else matters. It's really that simple. If the concepts are bad, nothing else matters. Not stats, not reputation, nothing. So, it would be nice to hear some positive or negative thoughts actually having to do with the concepts of the video. I am not personally qualified to do so, or I would be either yelling at xSCWx (if the video was bad for making it) or you (if the video was good, for being critical without acknowleding the actual quality of the video).
4) Judging by his NL talents and the fact that he is close with several top PLO players (urindanger, for one) I think it's reasonable that he might know enough about PLO to help somebody beat the small and mid stakes PLO husngs.
5) This should probably be mentioned first, but you should also take into consideration any PLO cash game experience he might have. Why? Because he is already aware of major differences between NL husng and NL hu cash structures, so he is almost certainly going to grasp the major differences in structure between a PLO sng and PLO cash game, making his experience in other PLO games much more relevant to his overall skill set.
In the end, just watch the video. Tell us if the video was good. Tell us if it helped you improve. If you just want to look at people's stats, I'll just hire people based on that and the qualify of videos will go down tremendously. Why? Because volume and skill play the biggest factor in total profit. Articulation of skill and a desire to make professional videos targeting your audience are the biggest factors in making good videos.
Tell me, would you rather watch a video by Cog Dissonance, or say Rockets23 (more profit, many more games)? I think Paul (Cog) is likely to be worth multiples more to a losing, breakeven or slight winning player than many players that have played more games and made more money than him. Why? Because Paul gives clear, thought out advice that is applicable to his targeted audience. He thinks about what he does and why he does it and he tells you exactly that.
Anyways, please watch the video. xSCWx can clarify his PLO experience, but I want to hear from members who actually have an opinion about the video, rather than the stats or opponent stats. Those things are basically details, finer points, but should not continue to be the focus of most comments you make.
Slatey says:
Where do u see him playing multiples more Ryan? I sharkscoped him.
Even he himself realizes he only played that much in his comments.
The rest i will just respectfully disagree with, as i dont want to get into a long drawn out thing.
xSCWx says:
I only made this video because it was requested. I've never tried to give the impression that I play PLO HUSNGs regularly. The closest I've said is that I have some limited experience in PLO cash, which I do. Unless there is some sort of strange demand for my PLO vids I won't be making these regularly, so it shouldn't be anything to worry about.
RyPac13 says:
I see 38 played on FTP and 7 on Stars.
I guess it's mostly moot, though, because most of those were played a long time ago by him.
Slatey says:
I'd love to see how your getting 38 Ryan ...i've sharkscoped him and i dont get that.
Would love to know if i'm looking at things wrong.
As for the video xscwx...i apprecaite you making the video but just my opinion on things.
Could you explain why you chose to fold a bunch of hands to a rr when you were in position.
I've noticed since playing the $23 turbo's that alot of bad players will overvalue KK's and AA's type hands
and if you get a good flop you can take them down...can u elaborate?
thx
