Where to start ?

I just started playing poker and now want to start taking it more serious and become a winning player.

I had most fun at Hu Sng Turbo which is what I want to specialize in and which is why I am here.

The Problem I have is that I have many different fundamental things I need to improve on.

So my question is where do I start and is it possible to learn the fundamentals together with Husng Turbo ?

I will read the Ebook from Mersenneary and also have accsess to The Mental Game of Poker 1.

Should I learn right a way how to work with a poker tool ? I have the mricro stake version of HM2. I have read here that PT4 is better for Husng and since for the CoffeHud you need notecaddy it would cost me the same. Should I better buy PT4 ? Are their other tools I should buy ?

Is there material on Poker which focus at the basics of Poker like calculating odds, bankroll management etc. in correlation with Husng ?

I have to admit i have not yet watched the free videos on this site, should I make sure the Author focuses on turbo rather than hyper games, since strategies... may differ a lot ?

I hope someone can help me out and my English makes sense.

Kind regards

Woodix

husng's are the perfect place to learn the fundamentals.

+ they are a fixed cost - you know how much you can win / lose ina single game / session and can budget your bankroll effectively

+ even newer players will struggle to lose more than 41-46% of games at low stakes: your initial investment will last

+ you get to play wide ranges: you are always involved in a hand HU. you will play lots of hands per hour and build up experience on different flop textures, and how certain hands / ranges play out on flop turns and rivers.

+ you get to play a variety of stack depths. if you ever transition to MTTs, spins, 6max sngs etc knowing how to play different stack and the how to construct ranges will be invaluable

+ they are fun. very important to enjoy your learning and volume. husng's are strategy heavy, competetive and induce action. you dont fold much and stacks often go in. really fun format to try out.

---------

PT4 and the coffee hud will be excellent investments long term. though not always needed for the micro / low stakes. i think you get access to the standard membership package if you purchase through husng.com. that has some good content [i think most of the videos in coffeeyays maths pack are in the standard membership library - which will help you with some of the pot odds etc - the mersseneary ebook also has some basic husng maths].

----------

the free content here is excellent for starting out. i found ph3rox's, pbogz and coffeeyays free videos really helpful when first learning the format. mjw has a beginners series too i believe.

----------

there is more hyper content out there as opposed to turbo content. it's worth noting that most turbo games will end up being sub 25bb ie hyper turbo stack depths, so that learning wont go to waste at all.

best of luck, husngs are a fantastic variant of the game. hope you enjoy
