Super Turbo HU Challange

First I confess that I AM A FISH at Super Turbo HU but I love this games and I’m eager to learn them. That’s why I’m taking coaching by a great coach and my game has improved but because I tilted one session on too high limits I destroyed almost all my winnings.

So I decided to play 10 Euro (not having the roll for them and still too high limit). The beginning was great but soon I was break even again. (glad it was no tilt) but emotionally it felt really bad so I thought it was better to play “my buy-in”. So back to the 2 Euros where I belong too, at least for the moment.

But I decided that this time I will do it differently not just playing. I will before I start a session review the last one, so I can see in which spots I lose chips and if I am unsure about a hand than I will post it here. Once a month I let you know about my results.

The Goal is the I make some profits on the 2 Euro levels that I can move up by the end of the year.

Wish me LUCK! :D

Well, best of luck to you

Well, best of luck to you (from what I see, you already had some, running  above ev all the time , which is not really my case.)

I also started a challenge in HYper turbo HU, micro stakes, 0.50€, 30€ BR, and things are going....up and down...and up...and down.

I can't seem to keep this BR moving upwards ;)

I am working quite hard on my HH, replayed them all, tried to find leaks in HM2 based, had a look at Chadders pack a friend showed me (thinking about buying this one, or would you advice for any other pack here ? )

Hyper Turbo HU is so much more fun than Full RIng SNGs I used to play before, adrenaline is there (yes, even at 0.50€) , and what a great training against tilt (can't believe the number of times I have lost against a 27o or a 69o all-in with AA or KK in my hand....).

Profiling the opponent remains a bit hard for me at these stakes (except for obvious ones, usually I can't really find any logic to these overbets flop, limps half of the time followed by a series of all.-in PF, hard to draw any "tendency" from this...

Anyway, I found that enough players play their cards and are quite easy to follow, lead= I flopped, check = I did not flop at these stakes.

At these stakes, I usually play a basic Nash below 10BB deep, although I decided to tighten my shove and call-shove range compared to what Nash recommends : not comfortable shoving T7o 9BB deep except facing very tight opponents, which I have never met at these stakes by the way (usual VPIP/PFR I meet are about 95/75....)

So good luck again, I'll post some results myself and maybe some hands where the decision was not that clear, maybe we can also discuss some tricky hands of yours ?

Cheers

Another fish

Hey Bomba,

How are things going with your quest to move up by end of year. Just wondered who you are getting coaching from.  I have had coaching myself and during coaching I was winning but to be honest think during the coaching I was actually just running good but my adjusted roi never went above 0 so  don't think the coaching was helping and when doom switch hit lost a lot then tilted more so then reloaded and same shit again so since then have lost a lot!!!!. Has anyone heard of bestpokercoaching they have some packages but seem almost to good to be true.

Thanks

David

UPDATE:After having grinded

UPDATE:

After having grinded a lot of 2 Euros I had a ROI of 2% and somehow lost motivation in playing the micros. I started thinking to quit hypers HU.

THE FOLLOWING PART IS NOT RECOMMENDED TO ANYONE OR SHOULDNT YOU TRY TO DO THE SAME!

I was looking at the lobby and saw that a losing player is registered (thx to pokerprolabs.com) in a 100 Euro. I played and won. I played a 200 Euro after having checked the registered player with pokerprolabs.com. Won-Won rematch. Wow, can that be possible... a lot of money... cool :D Of course I was aware of short term luck and variance and everything or at least I was thinking I knew....So I kept on playing high stakes Hyper HU, soon I crossed 1k barrier, got more and more bonus points in a faster way. I won 700 Euro one day, lost 800 the next, won 1200 and so on. I enjoyed my playing as a high roller. And I don’t know why but my game really improved and I became better in analysing hands and game situation. And my bankroll grew to 3'000 Euro It was such a great time.

Yes it was... Downswing came... Normally not a problem, but when you're playing 200 Euro games with a bankroll of 3000 Euros you simply cannot afford any downswing. Worst of it when I saw my roll shrinking I started to play too tight what just increased the shrinking of my roll. When I was 1000 Euro down I finally ended my ride by playing high stake HU hypers. I cashed out and made a break from playing. Good thing I could stop and cash out (+1 for me). How to continue? Playing 2 Euros was not an option. Do you know "the micros" comic on YouTube? At one point the main character goes broke, and then he started with a new I idea about how to play and how hard he will study and.... I was feeling like him. So I decided to exchange all miles I collected during my high stakes ride into Cash what has given me a roll around 700 Euro. Not a bad roll for playing 10 Euro hu hypers. I went into my account and closed all games higher than 10 Euro (to protect myself in any case). And I started to grind them on 9th of September. I'm doing well I played now 734 one table 10 Euro hypers with a ROI of 3.3% (54.2 % ITM). Of course this is no sample size but still a good start, feeling comfortable with the level I play now and I enjoy playing it. More and more I start also to understand the EV-Line ;) (Thanks to the forum here) and my games get better. I hope to continue improving my game (sure my coach will help me) and I understand too that you must play tons of hypers before you can say something about how you are doing in them....

Following lessons learnt:

-BRM is important, really important... all good players tell you that and it's true.

-I know that I can stop playing when losing and cash out some winnings -> no gambling problem

-My game has improved but needs tons of more hard work if I ever want being back at the high stakes again ;)

Future:

-I will move up to 20 Euro games when my bankroll hit the 2000 Euro line (calculate without bonuses and rake back etc.)

-I will post more often hands here in the forum

-Enjoy the 10 Euro games as much as possible ;) and keep on dreaming of coming back to the high stakes

Hopefully you enjoyed reading it.

Variance is a bitch!

Variance is a bitch! ;) She punched me hard in my face. After having had coaching session I played some games. I lost 19 games out of 20.

games played: 868 ROI 1.7% 53.3% ITM

I think I still run too good. My goal till the end of 2014 is playing a lot of games and having a ROI between 1-1.5%.

Another bad beat I got from PT 4 somehow I messed up the whole data base. it shows now 800 games with a loss of 8'000 Euro by just playing 10 Euro games :D

Losing 19 out of 20 is

Yesterday a winning session.

Yesterday a winning session. I played 22 games and I won 9 Euro according to ev line should have been around 20 Euro but I want complain.

In the last 110 games I totally lost 242 Euros just by playing 10 Euros. Personally I haven't any problems with the fact of losing money because it's part of the variance but when I lose that much in a short time I start doubting in my abilities to play HU Hypers. Does any of you (pros) know that feeling? What do you do against it?

Im still grinding the 10 Euro

Im still grinding the 10 Euro and I started to play 12.5 $ on another poker room just to get another pictures.

I played 1705 games now Profit 45.49 Euros ROI 0.3% ITM 52.6%. My results are a bit frustrating and I'm not satisfied at all with them, even I know that the sample size is still small. Worst thing I run over EV  At the moment I can exchange my player points to 150 Euros this makes the results a bit better.

I realized that my winnings are small and I generate a lot of rake. I made some calculation what were my results if I had played the same number of games on stars playing the 7$. 1705 games I would have won net 351 $. What is a lot more than the 45.49 Euros. Okay, Stars has better players but still if this mean that my ITM would drop from 52.6% to 51.5% I would still win 94 $. I'm really thinking about playing on stars in the future...

What do you think, shall I change or are the players even stronger on Star that my ITM Rate would drop far under 52.6%? What can I expect from Stars Bonus system?

Let me know you are thinking.

Best regards

UPDATE: games: 2051 Profit

UPDATE: games: 2051 Profit 130 Euro ROI: 0.6% ITM: 52.8% Bonus to Cash out: 200 Euro

Some information about my HU Hyper SNG Journey. I applied for the staking program of HUSNG.com. I got an agreement for the "Kiddie Pool" and I will soon play on Stars and grinding the 7$. I'm happy that I can take part in a program like this.

My hopes:

I really hope that I can improve my game to a higher level
I hope to satisfy my "money givers" and coaches.

One last thing: Wish me luck :D
