Play drastically different in Big multipliers?

Honestly I make this post on tilt, i came from losing a 100x. The situation is Im HU 17 BB effective with 55, and my standard play is to jam. Before doing my jam i thought that i was outplaying this player as he was certainly very nit, and maybe i should just RF, but i didn´t want to fall into the trap of playing worse in big multiplayer and just jammed.

I wonder what good players do here, do they give up the +EV of jammig 55 in this spot to keep exploiting this very nit player or just consider that is hard to believe that you can recover the misplayed EV of RF in this spot?

EDIT: I decided to be more specific about the nitiness of my opponent we played up to that point 16 hands his VPIP in SB was 67, his Cbet 33. His VPIP in BB was 20% so far.

When we started the hu i was 380 chips vs 1120. (he stacked the other player by hitting set vs two pair) I did get it up to 710 mainly stealing his blinds and defending my BB. at that point the blinds were 20/40

At least you were not playing for the Mill ball

If you are noticing that your opponent is playing very tight Preflop, then yeah raise fold seems like a good line. In game you need to decide what play is best in this specific spot. Act accordingly. You should be adjusting your play to maximally exploit your opponent. The prize pool  should not matter to you but how your opponent reacts to the prize pool does.

Outside of the game play around and compare the expectation of both actions with the assumptions you had about your opponents range. That will give you the real answer to this question.

Also losing big spins is all part of the fun. Spin and go!!!
