Mattraq1 & RyPac13: $20 Turbo On WSOP.com

Mattraq1 and RyPac13 are back with another WSOP.com heads-up turbo review. This time, Mattraq is playing the maximum buy-in level, $20, on this real money legal Nevada online poker room. As Mattraq plays, RyPac engages him in conversation about his decisions. The opponent Mattraq is up against is a very different kind of player from the first vid, and the adjustments and reasoning for his decisions follows a different pattern accordingly.

Thanks for the support. Was

Thanks for the support. Was the first time I was recorded live and put on the spot these last two videos and im glad that they came out well. I feared moments of awkward silence but Ryan did a great job keeping the talk going even during down time.

Just some questions.

 Hi guys,

Nice vid, but I have a few questions...

I understand your play but why did you go all-in at 7;20 with the nuts when he checked?

It looks like he want to play it safe and an all-in was in my opinion an action wich scared him and maybe

you played too transparant? You played safe....and then boom !...all in.. it's clear that you had something or

you made the perfect bluf. But when it was a bluf it was a very risky one.

What kind of player do you think he was? tight-aggresive/passive or loose aggresive/passive. ?

Why didn't you take notes and use a hud? Just to remark the importance of it?

Do you prefer WSOP.com? I didn't know the site. How is the traffic? Are they trustable?

Is the payout fast?

I understand that it's a free video so you don't give away your tools for free, but think like a

drugdealer...the first shot you give away is free....the rest is big bisiness..(joke).

The questions above are not connected in one or another way, just what i noticed.

It's no criticism, just questions.

My background., I play hyper-turbo's from 1.5 till 7 dollar on PS for a several years, bought some packages and  have seen a lot of vids.

Poker is a nice hobby for me. (I have a daytime-job).

I hope to see more vids from you both!

Thanks for it !

Hey man, sorry for the late

Hey man, sorry for the late reply.  Was travelling again for a few weeks following the WSOP.  Lemme answer one question and ill check the rest when i get some time later.

"I understand your play but why did you go all-in at 7;20 with the nuts when he checked?"

This is a good question and im glad you asked.  I actually thought of this same thing upon reviewing the video when it came out.  I was like "man why didnt i bet something like 180 to give him a chance to spazz.  It appears he doesnt have anything"  Then i tried to remember what i was thinking at the time while i was playing.

The short answer is vs this guy i was being a little lazy/careless with my sizing and lines because he was making such huge mistakes that i was just going to have a massive edge on him continuing to run him over.  For the sake of poker education tho, we can still analyze it in a reasonable way

Early in the hand i say "he almost always has a hand here" because of how easily he was just letting us run him over, and then he finally c/r us.  Going on that logic, When the river comes and he checks, if he is being sneaky with an 8, he will call the shove.  The more likely scenario is he c/r a FD, barreled turn, and when he gets there on river thinks nothing worse can call or is now just begging to get to showdown.  If he has a flush i think he only folds to a shove slightly more frequently than a smaller bet otr.  If my initial read was wrong and he happened to have total air on the flop, he always folds to the shove, but there is a non 0% chance that he decides to c/r spazz into us, making a smaller bet favorable vs this.  Finally, he can have c/r air on the flop, barreled turn, and hit a 9 on the river and is trying to get to showdown.  Again i think he only folds to the shove a little more frequently than a smaller bet, making a shove arguable favorable here.  So now you have to estimate how frequently he has each of these hands, then estimate how much you would make with each decision vs each of these hands. Then just average them together to figure out which one will make you more.

Realistically, i dont think there is going to be a massive difference here in the decision we make.  Hence why i was a little lazy in explaining in the video why i did it.  If we bet anything on the river with this runout, its pretty impossible for us to not have it.  We are either calling him down with showdown value and checking back the river, or we basically have the nuts.
