Is limping deep in Hu Hypers the new strategy

Hi,

I watched tens of Hu Hypers on stars yesterday, mid to high stakes, and nearly all of the players were limping a really high percentage of hands from the small blind when still above 20 bb's effective. Did I just come across a run of really placid players, or is this a new strategy( new to me anyway) that is being employed in these games now?

Many thankssmiley

Wow!

Hey, thanks man, really appreciate the reply. I presume then, that we are playing all of our opening range that way?

I used to play my sb range that way years ago, didn't really understand why I did, but just sort of felt right intuitively at such short stack depths. Then of course went with the heard and switched to the min raise. Anywho, I am looking to get back into them again, playing mainly spins and mtt's at the mo. Was going to buy the Chadders0 pack, but I think yours looks a better bet, coz I've watched all your youtube stuff, and twitch and like the way you think.

Think I'm way behind the curve at the mo, but love studying the game, so.

Thanks again pbogz.:-)

well, maybe not all of our

well, maybe not all of our range. Obv villain dependent, but would it be a small merged  min opening range, with some frequency of the top of our range thrown in as limp traps to allow for limping of wide range?

Thanks again:-)

Nobody?

Is this forum dead really for replies to questions like this? is it just best to post on 2+2?

Well you can look at it from

Well you can look at it from a few angles. GTO itself does suggest we implement a limping strat, which is going to be more of a balanced one. Although, some strats are used in similar fashion vs recreational players that will be very unbalanced. Sounds a bit complicated, but if you are looking to improve your overall game, please feel free to contact me for coaching @ pbogz1114@yahoo.com. Explaining these concepts in a paragraph would be nearly impossible, Hope this helps!

Email on the way.

Okay, thanks once again Paul.

I understand exactly what you are saying, I just didn't realize that we had come that far with GTO as far as pre-flop play goes. As I said before, I think I'm way behind the curve, and am really eager to vastly improve my game, so my email is on the way to you.

Cheers.
