Life update and a new blog
It's been a while as usual so I'll just give the cliffs of everything and maybe throw a graph up at the end. I just got approved to stay in Toronto until June 30th, so after a brief trip home for the holidays I'll be a Canadian until summer. I'm really enjoying it here, the weather isn't bad yet and I've been playing a few rec sports leagues to keep me sane and meeting people who don't play poker. That said, I can't wait to spend a few weeks in Chicago with my friends and family (and my boss :P)
I'm guessing not many people on here know this but from ages 4-18 I played piano regularly and recorded a cd with few classical songs to send with college applications so I suppose I was pretty good. I didn't play at all during college since I moved out of my parents' house but I'm planning on getting a Roland RD-700NX after the holidays and starting to play music again. I'm really excited about this and have a bunch of songs I want to learn/record. If anyone has experience with recording equipment and software and such I could use some advice, I'm hoping to have a youtube channel within a year or so and I'd need something for piano, guitar, drums, and mic. Contact me!
I also opened a blog recently where I'm writing some short thoughts about a poker player's perspective on life. I'm trying to make it available to non poker players so some of it might sound basic or familiar but if it's something you guys are interested in following you can find it here: http://varianceis.wordpress.com/
So as far as poker goes things are going smoothly for the most part. I had a bad run for a little while on my own money in September and October and was forced to either play low stakes or get a stake. About a month ago I got backed to play in mid stakes cash games and husngs and I've done well since.
Canada Pre-Stake:

Canada Post-Stake:

I've only played 75 husngs so I won't bother with a graph and I'm down 1.5k I think. Obviously I'm not too happy with how little I've made on the trip overall (been playing post-bf about 4 months now) but I think the last month went well and I expect it to continue to get better when I'm not forced to withdraw at all. I'll try to get another update at the end of the year with some sappy memories and new years resolutions.
