I'm back coaching again, with availability for new students!

My main frustrations the last time I coached were the logistical hassle of scheduling sessions, the “pay for a full hour and then it's over” nature of traditional coaching (that's often not at all in the best interests of students), and the fact that I really didn't like taking a couple students and then turning others away. It felt like there had to be a better way that made it more worth my time and even more rewarding for students. I also really didn't want to jack up prices to $200-$500 per hour (and $2000+ for packages) to match the increase in my success and become completely inaccessible to the majority of students who can't pay that much out of their bankrolls.

Here's what I've come up with in response to this. If you sign up to get coaching from me, here's what you'll get:

1. One session per month of “group coaching” - an hour-long Skype session with other students (grouped by stakes/ability level, typically with a size of 5-10 students). This will be very structured – I'll ask in advance for what you're interested in discussing and prepare accordingly – but will also have an open/conversational piece to it. You'll learn from other regulars at your stake as well as getting premier quality coaching on whatever you most want to know about (and what I think you really should know, as well).

2. One month of access to a special forum on HUSNG.com that I am devoting to the individual needs of my students. Here, you'll be in the company of other players serious about getting better, and I'll be able to answer questions and give help on my time with no worrying about scheduling precise times of the day (a big bonus for me). You'll be able to ask me anything you want to ask – post questions about specific hand histories or about general theory, and I'll be able to respond to you in full and with feedback – an ongoing conversation, not just the “pay for an hour, and you can pay for another hour if you need more help” model. You'll also have access to special strategy threads illustrating certain points (including a few butchered hands by the “pros” at the recent NBC Heads Up tournament!), my recommended reading and viewing lists of what's really worth studying, and pay-by-the-month access to me and other players who are serious about talking strategy and getting better.

How much does it cost? For that, you can take one of two routes:

Payment Method A: Provide your poker screennames to me, pay $50 at the start of each new month of access, and then 15% of your HUSNG winnings at the end of the month if you make money (owe nothing if you have a losing month) There is a 200 game minimum volume requirement for this option and some logistical details, but overall, quite simple: $50 plus 15% of what money you win.

Payment Method B: Pay a flat rate of $225 per month for complete access to the mersenneary coaching forum and the monthly hour of group coaching from me, keeping 100% of your winnings. No volume requirement exists for this.

I think these methods allow for maximum accessibility. If you're worried about paying for coaching and it not helping, the $50 + 15% method allows you to risk less and see for yourself how much coaching from a winning high stakes player will affect your game. It also has the added benefit that I will now be personally invested in your success, which gives me an extra benefit for answering your questions both in the forum and in the group coaching session as well as I can. The beauty of coaching plus staking deals is that when you win, I win.

If you're the type of player who doesn't want to share any of your hard-earned profit or hassle with any calculations, $225 up front is all you need to get you a month of access to my coaching and all the benefits of it. I'd have a hard time believing that isn't a lot better than the traditional “pay $225 [or more!] for every hour” pricing you would have to deal with in the traditional setup with a successful high stakes player and coach.
