i poker hypers
August 12, 2012 - 16:11
i wanted to ask everyone their thoughts about ipoker hu hypers. The rake is pretty high but rb is good making rake hurt less. I just dont rake enough at stars to get to supernova. i had been playing rev/merge however bankroll is getting to point where i dont feel confortable having this much on their site. i guess question is how is traffic at 20-50s is it hard core reg infested or are their other euro options. also i heard some ipoker skins had different structures any recomended skins.

You need to calculate with
You need to calculate with effective rake. If you with platinum star on pokerstars pay less effective rake then you do on iPoker with whatever VIP deal you have, you still might prefer playing on pokerstars.
I know that Cog Dissonance has some VIP deals to offer on iPoker, so he might be aware how the traffic etc. pp is.

Paddy Power is the only skin
Paddy Power is the only skin on iPoker that I know of that has Hyper HUs. It's an alright structure - 800 chips starting stack, good blind levels (10/20,15/30,20/40,30/60,40/80,50/100), 2 minute levels and 2% RAKE across all levels (yes, they have a $1 + 0.02).
The only(very important) catch is that there's very little, if any, traffic for these. This is because only paddypower offers them and not the whole network....

Oh wow, I wasn't even aware
Oh wow, I wasn't even aware of that.
Last fall I suggested to Paddy's to raise the 500 chips to 800 and to add a 15-30 level. Emilio (emotionz) deserves credit for bringing the previous structure's flaws to light.
The Paddy's rep said they would implement them soon, but Emilio told me a month later they hadn't been changed. So I asked the rep again, and a different rep told me that Paddy's had decided to push Ipoker (playtech) to make this structure change network wide.
So I figured they had gone for the home run, failed and Ipoker and Paddy's players were stuck with nothing.
I also suggested they lower the rake to 2.5%, from 5%, but it's actually 2% you say? That's awesome.
Maybe this should be a priority (pushing Ipoker to implement these network wide).
Update: Here's the first thread on our way to improving the Ipoker Super Turbos.

2% rake over all stakes
Yeah, it's 2 percent across all stakes.
$1+ 0.02, $3+0.06, $5+0.10, $10+0.2, $20+0.4
I played a few of these back when I first made this thread and they seemed pretty good, no idea what my average time was per game. I do agree that something has to be done about iPoker's ST's. The structure just now seems pretty messed up and if they dont change it, they're losing business.
A bit off topic: very susprised how "ignorant" some networks are towards HUSNGs - namely Ongame and PartyPoker. Having 10% rake for reg speeds is just laughable
