Nice video. I see the same play of my opponents at $57.5 so often lol.
lovelydonk says:
sorry to say that , but i think this video was really bad ... lots of stupid shove and stupid calls ... the limit was too low for u to play good I think
hokiegreg says:
just want to cover all the different buyin levels. i feel its important to show that u can typically maintain a solid/structured approach to husng even though ur opponents are spazzing out of their minds. if i make all my videos at 110+, i think that is doing a disservice to the members of this site that are trying to beat the low stakes games.
my next video will be 110/220.

Biggest thing that you have to keep in check when playing the lowstakes is fancy play syndrome. Pulling cool moves might work at higher stakes, but at lowstakes it's often like setting money on fire.
Liked the video, looking forward to the next ones...
PS: Your note taking seems to be similar to mine :D

Lovelydonk, can you please expand on your comments a bit.
Did you feel that Hokie played poorly in this video? If so, which specific hands did you feel he did not play well?
Thank you for the feedback.
Looser Vogel says:
I totally disagree with Lovelydonk. Imo Hokie's shoves and calls were either standard or fish-tailor-made. Like when he 4bet shoved V's min 3bet with ATo. Against this particular Villain probably a +EV move. Also very interesting your explanations about bluffing the turn on a wet board and the river NO MATTER what card hits on the river. Until now I was only double barreling if the river didn't complete the draw, I like your reasoning that I can fold out many hands no matter if the draw gets there or not.
Very good vid just like all your other vids, I strongly recommend for everyone to get the Hokie video bundle.
Cheers, Martin

+1
lovelydonk says:
it s just an overall feeling ... some big calls with A high when u can feel there s no fold equity with the opponent ... but also I should say that I really like how Hokie is playin on other videos , no matter what stake he plays .... but i just didn't like this one because I don't think he played optimal but if some people liked it it s cool.... I didn't mean to be rude or anything ...and i wasn't even talkin about stake ... so keep doing the good job!
later guys

No, your thoughts are perfect.
The reason I ask is so that Hokie can take a look at those hands and either expand on his thoughts and reasoning or correct any mistakes he may have made. This way, everybody is clear on the strategy and hands in the video and their reasoning.
lovelydonk says:
ok i ll watch the video again and explain a bit more

Loved it myself Hokie, Did I definately hear right that at this level just get it in <25bb with PP's? Im just at this level so I love these vids as you obviously have to play in a different way to $55 plus games.
Please keep them coming
Cheers

glad u liked the vid.
i open shove 22-66 from the sb 20 bb stacks and lower. it's unexploitable and it's hard to find a more +ev way to play these type hands vs most people. we dont want to play raised pots with hands that flop this poorly. limp/shoving also starts to sucks around these stacks bc if villain raises our limp he is more committed to call our shove as opposed to when hes 30-40 bb deep (fold equity).
from the bb i 3bet shove 22-77 40 bb or lower vs most people. again...unexploitable and hard to play raised pots oop with these hands vs most people.
TheCh1mp says:
thanks for explaining that and also thanks for the bet turn bet river advice its working a treat, really apprieciate these vids they are gold in every sense.
Cheers

Wow! This video was jammmmm-packed with great situations, fairly detailed commentary on a wide range of subjects, and the style of presentation is very understandable.
I rated this video 5 Stars and is one of the best I've seen.
It took me over two hours to take notes on this video. Only one other video has taken longer.
I do have a few questions:
At least a couple other coaches advocate limp-shoving small PPs <20bb, saying there is significant fold equity. You disagree?
@11:00 25/50 ATo. Hero: 690. You opt to 3x preflop against your weak villain. You say that this makes stack sizes pretty easy to play. The pot is 300 and you have 540 behind. Versus this "out of control" opponent, aren't those very awkward stack sizes that you should avoid?
@23:20 T5o, effective stacks 5bb. You shove. NASH says fold and this Villain will call you lighter than NASH suggests...I assume you made a mistake here due to talking?
ThanX and great job!
