Hneves182 - Playing Exploitable Against Weak Opponents

In his debut video, Brazilian regular hneves182 talks about how to exploit weaker opponents. He plays more exploitable himself in order to achieve this, walking players through his thought process against everyday, weaker non regular opponents. Games take place at the $200 hyper turbo level on PokerStars.

I thought the first few hands

I thought the first few hands were a really big way to start the video, interesting hands there.

Good to see a new accent on the site too! We have dutch, belgian, english, aussie, I'm probably forgetting one or two.

Video quality is a little less than stellar, but everything is visible and we've corrected the process for future videos.

I think I'm pretty done w/

I think I'm pretty done w/ turbos at the moment, haven't played in 8 months, action is getting worse and I feel my hyper game is much much better. Think I would need a ~15% ROI there to make it worth it giving up my 5% one in these. Our battles will be missed ;) I got another one coming along the same lines as this one, focusing on one specific player I've played recently.

Hi and welcome,first hand at

Hi and welcome,

first hand at 1.21 the more i look at it the more i'm not sure about it unless you have a super strong read about the villain and i'm not sure if at the time of the game you had that read:

1) first of all i think KJ7cc is a board where with Q8o you should check back a lot readless, you'll get c/raised a ton and you have to fold

2) on the turn the 9 can improve a good portion of his range (T8 and QT got there), so if you barrel that turn and he flats you have to fire big on the river and for this reason i like the small size on the turn

3) i'm not sure if the J is a good card to barrel, at this point he rarely has a Kx that flats 2 streets but Jx is reasonable in his range and consistent with the action on previous streets (flats flop c-bet and the small bet on the turn). you stopped the video before he checks river but seems to me that he checks pretty quickly and i think with Jx he would have thought about betting at least a couple of seconds and the flush draw also missed (if he is passive is probably not raising all his FD). I think that timing  tells in a spot like this are very important and more coaches should focus on those. With that huge overbet you get folds from 7x and 9x that is also a reasonable part of his weak check/calling range.

With that said i'm not sure about this line because sometimes i find random fish that makes very bad/random call and given that is early in the match i think you can find much better spots (like you do later in the video) against this player.

GL at the tables and i hope to see more ST action by you, would be nice to see you against fish players with other tendancies (aggro, loose ...)  and see your adjustments.

ty for the comments 1) i dont

ty for the comments

1) i dont see you getting c/raised that much on KJ7. Kx, flush draws, 2p+ pretty much (in general, and some of those a lot of the fish will call too), thats not A LOT imo. checking back you have to fold the turn pretty much everytime if he bets, if he doesnt what then? check again and hope to get to showdown while letting him realize his equity w/ anything?

2) yes, those 2 hands got there, but T9/Q9 too, and 7x/FD that is going for c/c, sometimes even some A9/AT, and all of those c/c again

3) all of those hands above are probably c/f, and there are less combos of Jx now (even if now they all call a shove). I like that about the timing, I agree its super important and I love to pay attention to that but in this spot I am just shoving no matter what that I dont think it matters too much. he could also be timing a bit to make you not bet when he has his scared 9x/7x.

they can for sure call like that but being an overbet on a super scary board I think they wont that much, and if he does, at least yu guarantee at least a couple rematches now that he thinks you're retarded.

I hope you enjoy the next one, it is about playing a looser fish indeed :)

Great video!

LOVED this video, thanks for it!

With the QTo hand at the end where you stack the fish, what is your plan on various board types where we aren't lucky enough to flop top pair? I mean calling 4x there without a plan seems tough especially when we have no read on what his over sized raise is. Sometimes it's randomness at my stkaes, sometimes it's Ax, rarely a monster. Are you check shoving or leading flops to take pots away when you miss?

Yes, calling without a plan

Yes, calling without a plan is def tough. I prob should've commented more about that one.

I think that his range is weak Ax/77-/randomness almost always, from what I've seen. So that allows us to play pretty good on most flops, flopping pairs is the easiest, but when we dont we can always bluff when there's mid cards there, say a J72r board or 873, we can c/minr and barrel turn+river, we can donkbet and barrel a lot too, there are a lot of options. And remember that our hand flops very well.
