Heads Up Hogging Prevention Feature Introduced by iPoker

iPoker has released a new client update, and one of the features that is being introduced is known as Heads Up Hogging Prevention. This new feature is basically a system which will keep tabs on the players that are inactive, but occupying multiple tables at the same time. The operator now has the option to restrict the amount of access a player has, when he’s being classified as inactive by the system. This new features will be available at the Heads Up cash tables for now.

The announcement from iPoker sent to its skin operators mentions that this update aims to make the games smoother and to make sure that everyone is treated fairly and that they have the chance to enjoy a faster game.

Inactive players are a major problem for many of the networks, since the lobby system that is in use right now gives players the option to just wait around until a weak player comes along, instead of playing each other.

Measures Taken By Others Against Heads Up Hogging

One of the companies that has taken measures to deal with this problem is PokerStars, with the incentives that they use at the Heads Up SNG tables, and with their plans to consider changing the system to a format where players are given competitors through a match-making process. At a recent PokerStars meeting, similar lobby changes were discussed for heads up sngs.

Another network, MPN, decided to deal with this issue by getting rid of the Heads Up tables, using the 8-Man Blaze version instead.

The first steps made by iPoker towards the Hogging Prevention system involved using a cap on how many Heads Up tables players could be waiting on, while staying inactive. Details on how the new system works will be coming once the update is out, which should be soon.

I'm interested to hear the

I'm interested to hear the specifics of this method.
Something like "if you deny action to 75% of players that sit you, you get banned from the games for x days" would be ideal. Basically, I think it's good to force some action in heads up cash, if one person wants to play another who is sitting, they should have to play (like in heads up sngs).
