First Quarter of 2011 in the Books
So it has been a good start to the year for me. In January-March, I ended up making $16,437 total profit. Thus far through the first four days of April, I have made $1,597 this month, putting my cumulative profit for the year 2011 at approximately $18,000. On April 3rd, I had my single best day of my heads up sitngo career, with a 15-4 record and $1,124 total profit. On April 3rd-April 4th, I had my longest winning streak of my career, 20 straight wins, six short of being on the alltime leaderboard. In my 21st match, I got it allin 40bb deep with AA vs K10 on a KQ9 two club board. I raised AA preflop and fish called, flop KQ9, I bet, he check raised flop, I 4bet allin, and he snap called. Unfortunately the turn was a J, giving him a straight, and my streak was over. Sigh. Oh well, pretty sick run nonetheless. So yea, 2011 has been good so far.
I ended up making three training videos for husng.com this first quarter of 2011. Unfortunately, due to the current golf season starting now, I will be taking a break from making vids until at least fall 2011. Thanks to the great positive feedback from many of my fans on the vids, I will almost certainly be back producing them again late in the year.
I feel my game has reached a new level in 2011, mostly due to the fact that I’ve been studying the game hard, and taking the time to analyze tons of hands, and watch tons of training vids. My favorite videos on the site are Mers’ vids and Skates vids. They have pretty much changed my heads up sit n go game for the better. I would give a high recommendation to any of their videos.
On Feb 24th, 2011, I switched from playing deep stacks to regular speeds on Full Tilt Poker. I feel that my game is more suited for regular speeds. For one, I am able to get more volume in, with the faster structure, and greater fish pool, so profits will obv be higher than when I played solely deepstacks. Since the switch on Feb 24th, I have played 931 reg speed games, according to my holdem manager, with a 15.5% roi, and $9,039 total profit. According to holdem manager, I have logged 132 hours since Feb 24th, and made $68.47 per hour during that time. So obv I’m playing super good at reg speeds, getting in decent volume, which is leading to $$$$. So I will continue to play reg speeds, and hopefully I can run this good the rest of the year!
Also, I started playing some $200 level reg speeds over the past week, and plan on playing many more in the next few months. My goal for the rest of 2011 is to be able to play the $300 level heads up sitngos on Full Tilt by winter time.
I’m going to be golfing quite a bit this spring/summer/fall, and I may have some golf updates. Also, for the second straight year, I’m going to be playing in the Mike Missanelli Open on May 12th at Deerfield Country Club in Delaware, so that should be interesting. Maybe I will update my blog with a report from that golf tournament next month.
Alright, this blog entry Is getting too long, and I don’t feel like typing anymore lol. I hope everyone runs good in April! Gogogogo

I do play golf, but my handicap is only about an 18, so i'm not very good.
Anyways, glgl, thanks for reading my blog.

Your blog is really interesting, keep on working! 18 is already good I think in the usa, here in France it's easy to down our handicap I can see that, I am 5 in france but my level is like 10 handicap in south of america, they are almost scratch under 5 there!Anyway handicap doesn't mean a lot to me, anyone who play golf competition regulary can down his handicap easily. So train hard golf and poker ~

Awesome man, really good to hear. How many reg speeds are you usually getting in a day?

Thanks newff! Since I made the switch on Feb 24, I play anywhere from 20-30 reg speeds a day, regging the 50, 80, 100, and 200s, which is pretty decent volume given that I only 2-3 table for the most part
