Croixdawg Video 21 - $115 and $105 on Full Tilt
January 21, 2010 - 20:33

Croixdawg plays a $115 turbo then plays three $105 regular speed games against the same winning player. His perception of his opponent's play and adjustments change throughout the matches.

Nice one Croix.
Good to see you battling some thinking players instead of the hordes of fish you're used to getting sat by at the 550's :) Jblaich was really tough. Glad he doesn't play the turbos as we would've prolly ran into each other.

WOW, great vid and i like 40+min video

I like such kind of videos, where instructor plays 2-3 games against same opponent, making decisions based on reads. Much more interesting then matches vs uknown players.
xpr says:
If he waited you already in same spot then there is nothing wrong with shipping back imho, but i can't believe that you haven't a backup connection after so many years played.
In general vs some random it's wasting your money, esp. vs -66 ROI fish, who donate his money in few days and you'll never play him again.
P.S. +1 to camp of 40mins+ vid's lovers :)

Good video, also a fan of long videos...thanks :)
One question though:
In one of the first 5 hands or so you hit bottom pair on A94 rainbow and don't cbet the flop. I'm still on the fence, because I think that flop would be pretty good to cbet because it's dry (rainbow, high/med/low card).
Could you elaborate as to why you chose not to cbet?
I know you had showdown value, but most cards that could come on the turn/river are outs for the villain that are likely to beat us. Plus, we're losing initiative.
Later in the game you decide to cbet a A106 rainbow flop...which is why I'm confused.

Top video!
I like videos that are made of 3-4 games, definitely it should not be much longer otherwise concentration is fading - but we also have the pause button. Sound/Video is very good.
1. Jblaich is one of the biggest winners on FTP on the $100 games, when it comes to ROI = 18% is really good so no wonder you had a hard time beating him, especially if you run bad on getting nice hands (or if he open folds both times you hold QQ). But that is why I liked the video, you stayed very calm and continued your A game and that is excellent. It showed that even pros will have this moments where everything wents wrong.
2. You asked in the beginning what we thnk about the blinding out if someone gets disconnected. My opinion is that as long as it is part of the software and you have no other chance anyways, you are perfeclty fine to do so because everyone will do it with you as well. When I consider $100+ games FTP should increase the "dissconnection protection" to 5 min. because that would help you restarting your computer/router in time. $300+ it would be very nice if they give the other person a "Skip Tournament" button, where the pot is either equally distributed or where the payout is based on the actual stacksize. Eg. $1000 HU SNG, 2750:750 chip, Player A times out, Player B can now choose to get 50:50 money back or to get $500 back (what he would probably only do if he is fafourite in chips and would get $1000+x back). However, a system like that would be easily implemented and would give you a good chance to be fair.
3. You mentioned you are looking for players to play against for a new video, I would like to apply! :)
thx

Hello,
i have not had the problem that my connection has been lost while playing. However it happend a couple of times that my opponent timed out and got disconnect. In case they come back before they loose the tournemant due to the blinds i offer them a deal according the chipstacks when they got disconnected, except they pay my rake as well. If they dont come back in time, i use the player-to-player transfer to transfer them an amount that equals their chips. (except for the rake i had to pay).
You are probably right if you say that some people, will not be fair in that matter, but to me that does not make any difference. I'm not a huge winner, either (4% roi HU overall) but i still would feel bad, to abuse an opponents bad internet conection.
On the other hand I have experienced that players appreciate my offer a lot and are willing to rematch me. (I try to play players that I believe to have an edge over, so thats good) I'd rather play a couple of fair matches against a weak opponent rather than making use of them blinding out and never be able to play them again.
I dont know how often you get disconnect yourself and in how far you need to use it if the situation aroused vice versa in order to keep your winning rate, but to me it does not occur very often that someone blinds out anyway so on the long run it would not decrease my winningrate by much anyway...
oh: apart from that: great video by the way ;-)

pretty good video .... u r a btter player than me of corse so u know what to do ...but i think ur game was pretty passive there ... so it was easy for ur opponent to run over u
FreakOfNature says:
Unless the guy is a personal friend of mine or a regular who I play a fair amount (and like), what I do as standard is is timebank for the hand he was disconnected just incase it's a reboot and as soon as the time has run out I take the blinds.
This should be enough time for them to come back with reboots or not long after to have made that much of a difference. If it's another problem and they are not back then I have no sympathty. Not just because "they would do it to me" (which most people do), but obv it effects hourly rate and all that. i tilt when I see decent hands being thrown away and then go card dead when they get back and depending on stack sizes and blind levels, it may be more advantages for them to have higher blind levels.
I dont have a back up connection and have dissconected once or twice in my time and honestly, I just accept that its my problem, i dont cry about (well I do, but only to myself ;)). In this day and age most internet providers are stable and if not and disconnection issues are a problem for someone, they should get a back up connection, play cash or change isp's
Oh and btw I would only do the above deep enough, if blinds ever on 75/150 i'm hammering the blinds straight away
Under no circumstances would I ever xfer back to the dudes money back to them especially if they hadnt come back during then game and especially if they are following me around other tables - i'd offer a rematch maybe. Seems like you probably did the guy some money back by the looks of the chat, which is nice of you but I wouldnt of done, maybe I'm just a hearless %*$*%^$%"&!

hi croix,
i am bit late on this vid but i just rejoined the site - during watching i saw two spots where u gave your tough opponent credit on the river and folded - both times you noted that he typed in the numbers fast and manually - does an opponent that type sin numbers manually andfast make you think he is strong?

RyPac13 says:
Hi,
You can download all videos that have a "Standard" download button above them.
This includes almost every video from Fydor, Cog Dissonance and RyPac, and just about every video from $5-$55 levels from all other instructors. This should result in over 100 videos available to you.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
fpereiracosta says:
How can i see all the videos?
RyPac13 says:
By subscribing to the "Premium Membership" which can be found in our membership tab.
The Standard Membership still gives you access to over 100 videos, but is much more limited above the $55 buyin level.

good video, more pls... I like seeing videos where the instructor is put into tough spots and actually loses some matches. A lot of guys only make videos published when they are running well I think.
