Thx for making a few games with some decent opponents Croix.

Hindsight is 20/20 of course but your 9/7s hand vs his J10 early in match with his very quick

turn bet represented a solid hand(that you mentioned). Would you have considered it the 2nd time around at the end with

your 7/8 hand when he bet again out quick on the turn to be strong?....tough spot though.

thx

BTW...forgot to mention....can i send you some Red bull or something to keep you from

yawning in your video's?

;)

As I'm writing this response I just yawned, go figure.  I felt good about the 97ss 3bet at the time just based on game flow and some randomization against a regular player.  Just unfortunate he had what he had :(  The 87 hand definitely sucked..didn't put him on a straight but yeah 2pair is very likely making our 2pair probably beat.  Might have to take you up on the redbull offer!

I've played against Gambler0034 a ton, it was very interesting to get your take on an opponent who I play regularly.

You mention mixing in minbets pf to randomize your play. Perhaps that's neccessary at the $500+ level, but at the $55s, do you think there is any real benefit in adding a randomizing aspect to your preflop play? I realize there's probably not much of a difference either way, but.. just curious.

Great video.

Good video!!

I know you don't use Nash that often, could you maybe make a special video focusing only on your 25/50 and 50/100 endgame?

Cheers :)

I think you should pay more attention in labeling your videos in the future. Video is named croix_15 and not croix_13. Or are we missing two ? Maybe all coaches should use the same standard in labeling their videos. Makes archiving a lot easier.

Yeah, against regulars who are competent at any level, I will mix in min raising.  I find it to be especially useful at the 25/50 blind level but will throw in a few at 15/30 as well.

2. Radeh

I was thinking of this exact idea.  I would probably title the video Endgame - An Alternative Approach.  It would most likely deal witht he 50/100 level and my play would vary based on my opponents ability and whether they are passive/aggressive.

3. SnG

I got screwed up early in the process when I made 3 matches instead of pausing camtasia and keeping all matches in one file.  I will talk to Rypac and see how we can get on the same page again where Im saving my file to the video number, most likely deleting current croix_14 and croix_15 from my library.

Hope these helped!

An easy way to get around that is for the 3 part video make it something like this:

croix_12_a

croix_12_b

croix_12_c

I'm not sure what the actual video number is, but you get the idea.

It's Croix #8 - 3 video files in one .zip arhive

RyPac13's picture

RyPac13 says:

We'll fix the file name.

Just rename the files before you upload them croix ;)  If it's the same as another video you made just add croix_(insert #)_playing550s.zip or what have you.  We'll talk about it.

Croix, I would be interested in how you handle multi-tabling against guys like the last one you played, who has unorthodox moves like the overbet lead. Would you ever drop down from 4 or 3 tables down to two if you are getting in a lot of marginal spots or running bad, or if you're trying to figure out someone's game? Thanks.

croixdawg's picture

croixdawg says:

If I feel like I have a significant edge against a player, I'm going to want to play as many tables with him at once as I can.  However, if I feel like I'm not playing my best or getting unlucky leading to poor game play I will take a break from playing altogether.  I think its very key that when you are playing you need to maximize focus and not let anything you can't control bother you (luck).  When I feel ready to start up again I will try to fire up 3-4 tables most likely and won't really downscale to 1 or 2, rather just quit if I'm not feeling it.

Greetings Croixdawg,

I have a question about the way you played a hand against Benvandlak.  It might seem kind of trivial, but it left me feeling a little confused about how I play the same hand.  Anyway, at 41:02 you were dealt K3o in the SB and you opted to fold it instead of opening with a raise.  You both were playing with full stacks and the blinds were 15/30.  I'm just curious about why you threw it away instead of raising?   I was thinking Kx would be in your raising range.

Any feedback would be appreciated,

Jeffrey
