Croixdawg Video 09 - Various Levels

croixdawg's picture

Croixdawg plays various levels in this video, a $520, $115 and $34.50 on PokerStars.  Included are opponents that vary as much as the buyin level, specifically a game against an overbettor and another against a passive player.

Two constant themes are patience and picking the right spots to adjust in.

Greetings Croixdawg,

Thanks for posting this helpful video.  It's helpful to watch an expert play and adapt to different levels and playing styles.  Also, I enjoyed your running commentary, which you was easy to understand.  The post-game game review was really useful as well, as it cemented in some of the material you previously discussed.

That being said, I do have one question.  During your first match you said you didn't mind calling hands like 42 offsuit to min raises from the BB (in the early stages when you have 75BB).  The hope was "flopping glory" at a cheap price-I believe.  I'm wondering if this play is generally OK or if it is contingent upon your opponent.  Also, would you make that same play against an unknown player at other limits under similar circumstances (75 BB, limited info, min bettor).  Next, what about hands that have no potential to flop the absolute nuts (e.g. 95 off).

Thank you,

Jeffrey.

at 32:40 you called his first preflop raise with 52s, why?

Why did you play it so passivly postflop as well? Just calling the flop, and never making a bet seems very -ev.
