Video schedule for the next few days looks like this:

RyPac presentation and game on exploiting tight players, new Croix video, Cog Dissonance video on exploiting tight players and a guest video.

If the guest video is ready I will post that one right away, we're having some technical trouble with that.

Great video Cog Dissonance,

Your ability to notice various behavioral cues and sort of integrate them to form a profile of your opponent is really remarkable.  If I 1-table and pay attention to these little nuances, I find my win rate is greatly enhanced.  It's interesting how players (including myself) have such a lack of self awareness; we can be oblivious to the tells we are giving off through repetitive and predictable behaviors.  In this villain's case, he always bet slightly over pot (like 240 into 220 pot) when he was weak or bluffing.  I highly doubt he was cognizant of how obvious it was to you.  Similarily, I'm sure I have some obvious tells that send a clear message to my opponents.

Your videos have given me a greater awareness of the psychological aspects of the game.  Integrating the 'hard science' of Primo's vids (and others) with the more intuitive and psychological dimensions of the game should be highly profitable to an observant player.  BTW, I'm one of the HUSNG'ers who actually likes watching you play live and not having the advantage of hindsight (and I do enjoy the pesky rooster, btw).  Please keep making both varieties, are they are both highly useful and appealing; they just have different strengths and limitations.

Thank you,

Jeffrey

Thanks Jeffrey I always appreciate feedback, and I lap up positive feedback like this like a sponge!
I guess when I feel guilty enough I'll make another live one. Do keep an eye open for my heads up fundamentals tight video. I think it should go down well. Although I'm not making the rest of the series as I originally anticipated.

Wouldn't the most efficient video format be recording a live game and then dubbing in commentary afterwards?

That way, you get the live feel of the game, timing tells and everything.  You also get a better idea of the strategy behind every hand and you can get a better breakdown of the details in each hand, because no matter what anybody says it's always going to be more effective to breakdown a hand with more time on your hands than it is to break it down live.

Just a thought.

Paul, you're a video-making MACHINE!!

Like how you categorize villains really well.

Also, although I like live-videos once in a while, I think videos with dubbed commentary would be better because it'll give you time to think about your answers more deeply. In live play, you might make certain moves based out of instinct...and even though you might explain why, I'm sure you could explain it better and in more detail if the commentary were dubbed in after recording the video.

We'll probably start a normal rotation again.

Cog was the last person to join the team and now he has a good deal of back library videos, so things should be more balanced at this point.

His videos are also very popular, so that makes it all the easier :)

RyPac, I did a video once (against Brandon Adams) where I recorded it live for the first half then went over some of the hands in more detail post-game. Most of the feedback I got was that it was a decent video but going through the same hands a second time was repetitive.

No doubt it's more work for the video makers, I just think it's probably the overall best format for a video.

As in, if I were making one video right now for some award that relied on quality, I would do it that way.

It may, however, not provide enough added benefit to makeup for the length of time (likely close to double) it'll take to do it that way.
