Cog Dissonance Super Turbo Series Part 1: Starting Out

September 1, 2010 - 15:28

Cog Dissonance starts his super turbo series at the $2 + .10 level. This is a good video to watch for any aspiring super turbo player, as the lower buyin level can be a great way for even a mid stakes player to get accustomed to this structure and the changes that go along with playing it.

I watched the video and I got a question about it :D
I saw you are shoving fairly tight with low eff stacks, don't you think (at this level) you are giving away too many chips?
At 2$ I don't think players will call you too light, so you shove should be +EV.
at higher stakes, not shoving junk makes sense because players tend to adapt better...
Anyway nice vid keep it up Sir
cog dissonance says:
Yeah you may be right. I'm not too sure about the micro stakes.

Nice, when can we expect next parts of series?

Sometime this week.
The plan is to give people a bit of a guide into getting started in these, through Cog's unique perspective.
Combined with the Mersenneary end game video in the standard membership (as well as Fydor and my end game videos) newer players should definitely start to feel comfortable playing in the 0-30bb area of the game, including super turbos.

Its really intersesting to have this kind of 'live' vid from Paul.
If its possible , can I have more explanation about using Nash CALLER or not.
I know that Nash caller is only used to counter the Nash Push chart. So, do you try to deduce if your opponent use Nash before using? and how to be sure about ????
mischi says:
I think you understand it well and that is why nash caller is pretty much useless (nobody plays exactly nash push side always). In game you have to estimate opponents pushing range and try to make +ev calls.

I think Mischi hit it on the head.
