Borg7: Im not scared

Borg7's picture

I recently discovered that Im not scared. I went to the movies last night and I saw safehouse, Im just like Denzel in that movie an ex cia operative thats gone rogue. Now I just travel the world and look for secrets in the husng community. I got dirt on people from Merf and Hokiegreg and also that chick with the new vid on this website, shes done stuff......you dont even want to know.

Some people might try to stop me, especially Ryan..some dbag in Chicagotown-Pizzaland. Have you guys had that Pizza? It blows. Barbara Streisand might try to stop me too...the singer, not the poster.

I'm gonna leave you with another thought: Why is _dave_ so bad at volume?

Hey Borg, since when do you play HUSNGs?

I mean, what was your path from begginer to making playing the 200s?

Thou shalt not tilt.

Borg7 says:

@ dave: Yeah, I'll be making more videos in the future.

@ mom says: I play for roughly 2 years now I think. I was staked+coached by Brokerstar back then for the $2 games and moved up in stakes after some time (up to 50s or 100s). After playing on my own for a while, I was staked+coached by Croix who has had a massive impact on my current game.

Great success man!!!

What is your grinding routine like? One table, 2 3? How many hours per day and what time of the day do you play?

And, in all honesty, how good a tilt control are you?

Thou shalt not tilt.

!!! Not that it isn't true, but it's certainly a surprise to see "_dave_ is bad at volume" in the recent comments at the bottom of the homepage lol!

Unfortunately no job currently, so yeah actual real bad volume :( I tend to think it's a) a "reinforcement" issue - I've very rarely yet had a decent day when I've played a "lot" in one sitting, but plenty bad days - my autopilot is terribad at husng, and b) a confidence issue - I don't have enough confidence in my game yet to know with enough certainty I have a solid game and just need to grind - the opposite really, I think I'm a noob - "probably OK" but there's a lot to learn. I find I only get good results when I play very conciously and deliberately, and giving 100% focus tires me out real quick! I'm sure volume will become easier to attain as I get more confident I'm doing it right. But for now I question myself a lot of the time and like to reflect on matches for a while before playing another a lot.

I counter poor daily volume by trying to play at least some games every day, week in week out. I checked my hem, and I can produce a similar graph to above - albeit at a lower winrate, a FAR lower ABI, no real bad EV swing, and it took me 4 months!

Sorry, that was lol-long to try and justify my weak-ass volume! Will be trying to improve it constantly.

P.S Any plans for moar Borg7 videos?

Despite this blog entry reading like a 7 year old wrote it, it is the most entertaing one i've read in a while. Now if we could have this sort of dialogue in video format I think we'd be on to a winner.

He must be if Borg is still in Iceland.

Borg7 says:

@ Ryan: Perhaps that's true but I think there are deeper reasons behind it

@ Mom says: Thanks bud. I play as many tables as I get action on, which is rarely more than 4 and on average prob about 2.

I usually play like a morning session right after I get up (12:00-14:00) and another long evening session at approx 19:00-02:00 (German/French time). In the afternoon, I just hang out and go to the gym.

I think I'm decent at tilt control because I know that it does not matter if I win or lose a game as long as I play well. There are different techniques with which you can internalize the correct mindset for the grind.

If I do catch myself getting frustrated, I just quit for a few minutes or even for the day if the damage is big.

Dude, you've been in Iceland too long, it's messing with your head.

Denzel plays a man gone rogue in just about every movie he plays. I think they pay the guy that writes his movies no more than $15hr and they originally found him on Craigslist.

Though replicating Denzel in the poker world is probably a formula for success, consistently churning out a valuable, yet uncreative product... yea, poker is probably one of the better fields to replicate Denzel in. Viva Denzel Washington, viva Iceland?

Lol...I'm still in Iceland if that explains anything =)

_dave_ is bad at volume because he focuses on the software community and probably has a full time job in addition to that (that's my guess at least).
