A6o limp raise in bb, first hand, in microstacks, and a check raise question.

Hello, the limp raise i think is okay, and my intention was check-raise the flop (do it in a wet flop is okay? change raise to shove?) but he checked too (what I do if i wanna check raise and he checks too? raise in turn?) the 8 appeared so i think it would be better to shove cause he'll pay with 1 draw card to flush.

Good move?

thanks!

is a 0.50$ hu.

And sorry for my english :P

I'm a 5.25 player so not the best at this...

I would of just shoved pre-flop because playing A-rag is tough oop for me.  I am pretty sure a shove pre is good but better players might be able to take different lines that are better.

As played, I would lead out on the flop.  If you go for the c/r you run the risk of checking behind and giving him a chance to catch up with any random club he has. You have no clubs so that makes it a bit more likely that he has one as well.  If a club would of fell on the turn you are now praying to check it down and probably end up losing to his baby flush.  If you lead you for sure get value from villain if he is drawing or behind plus it makes your hand look weaker.  Also, I can see him shoving a decent range when you lead on the flop that you are doing great against.

as played, I would of bet half pot or a bit more on the turn to get calls out of weaker hands.

Hi there josele123It's fine

Hi there josele123

It's fine to c/r the flop, but only if you are sure your opponent is very likely to cbet. Otherwise a lead is far preferable. You also need to consider whether to commit yourself, whether by c/r or by leading. I would suggest that leading full pot (120) is a fairly bad play since we have to check-fold vs any club on the turn after committing a large portion of our stacks.

Depending on opponent's tendencies, I would suggest either leading out for an overbet - say 220 - and being committed given any turn card or leading out for 1/2 pot and check folding if a club hits. If we instead go for the c/r, we need to commit ourselves so that we are all in, even if the turn is ugly. I realise it's not ideal to be committed to shoving on a four-flush board, but we need to consider how many chips we win every time the turn blanks off, making a committing c/r the best play. Once again, we need to be sure opponent will cbet.

I think flatting preflop is fine. Assuming we are playing a recreational player (which his turn call would definitely suggest!) we can get a bigger edge this way. Against a regular, we could be better off making the unexplotiable preflop shove.

Would be interested to hear further comments.

Hope this helps

so preflop i think a jam is

so preflop i think a jam is better v good or bad player unexploitable v a good player and even v a bad player who likes to see flops a weak ace (often considered the worse ace A6o) doesn't play well post so i would prefer a jam.

on the flop generally at the micros i found that peps will fold v a lead here without a club or top pair i also find that alot will check this back often but they will usually CBET any club and most will cbet 1 pair hands

so to lead on the flop would get most to fold (probably not this spaced out leprechaun muppet but most peps would fold to a lead) and only call with a club so i would go for a check jam (all in raise) which leaves all his pairs and all his 1 club hands (and maybe some air) in play for a possible cbet. so as played i think flop is fine

turn i would not jam here i would bet pot or just a little more than pot like 150 with the intention of jamming any river except a club (though if i had any read on how bad this player was i would probably consider a check call on a club river )
