Greetings,

My name is Jeffrey (for those who don't know me) and I joined HUSNG about four months ago..  I've been a paying member for 2 months.  I've made dozens of posts, watched dozens of movies (some multiple times), took copious notes, asked myriad questions, wrote novels, spoke with several members, and put a lot of work into my game.  Also, I had two hand history reviews (one with Rypac and one with Primo).  I've had a lot of up and downs, but right now I feel like I'm capable of beating my limit at a reasonable clip.

I'm a movie-making machine, lol.

Greetings,

I haven't posted for a while.  I've been busy with a host of different things, mainly just technical things related to my computer.  I've learned how to operate a myriad of different applications and programs.  This would not have been possible without the help of a fabulous fellow HUSNG'er.  Just yesterday I opened up my husng.com mail and all of a sudden I was treated to this cool proposal to make movies and then exchange them.

I was like, "That sounds like a hell of a lot of work, and I'm easily frustrated."  Of course, I didn't say that to him.  I just told him he'd have to be patient, but I sure as hell would do everything in my power to learn how to use these new programs.  The great thing is that he explained everything in such a way that it easily 'clicked.'  I'm 34 years old and have quickly discovered I'm not as tech savvy as some of you youngsters.  It's kind of funny in away; I've been online since early 1995 and yet I'm the one with all the questions.

Greetings,

I'm finally making some progress in my poker game.  Without this site, I would continue to have huge leaks in my game (especially heads up).  I feel that watching videos and taking notes on them has really beneficial.   Also, I've followed links to some really cool material written by people like Rypac and Bigsaje and many others.  Also, I've spent many hours watching the best players duke it out (it's entertaining as well, even though it's value is somewhat limited as you can't see the hole cards).  However, the most important aspect of my improvement is emotional control.

I had a great run last month and just mucked everything up by getting upset (e.g. tilted) after enduring an extended streak of losses.  I foolishly panicked and told myself I needed to get back to even immediately.  So, I went up to the mid stakes and quickly donked off my winnings and then a little bit more.  I had to reload and told myself this was the last time.  If I couldn't exercise emotional control, I was taking a long break from poker (like a year).

I'm afraid to lose money, but not for the usual reasons...

Greetings,

I've been having difficulty getting in a large volume of games at Pstars.  I always seem to play one or two games (sometimes as many as 10), but my goal is to play 500 games by the end of the month.  I've been running ok (not great, but I'm not losing like last month); I've probably won $200 in the last ten days between HUSNG's ($2-$11) and 6 man turbo's.

What typically happens is that instead of playing I come to this site and watch videos.  I'm always watching videos!  I've probably watched 40 vids now, and I've seen some videos multiple times.  Or, I go to Pokerstars and I watch the HUSNG instructors tough it out with the best players online.  I'm not sure if it's procrastination, fear of failure, fear of success, laziness, or what.

I have noticed that I feel a little anxious when I sit down and play a game.  The stake doesn't matter.  I have like $350 in my Pstars account anyway; so I'm well-staked for my limits. Even a $5 game could raise my pulse a little.  This was never the case until I cared about playing well.

Running poorly, but not discouraged

I haven't posted to my blog for a while.  Actually, I haven't played that much poker in the last two days.  It's not too exciting to write about poker when you're getting your butt handed to you.   However, when you're bound and determined to improve your play, you better keep making learning and making adjustments.  I'm going to learn more by interacting with others and absorbing whatever information I have at my disposal.
