Mich P Rich :: July -> Aug

Last blog I mentioned getting my ass into gear, so here's the update on that. Basically been playing 6-7 days/ week since July 1, where I have the lobby up 8-16hrs (obv play time is much less than this). I've been sitting the 100's DS and reg, 160-4m's. Last month I got in just over 300 games, 7.2% ROI for ~$3.1k, which is def a good month but makes me realize how hard it can be making a living at these stakes w/ the state of games today. I'm officially out of the black for this month starting yesterday, so that's very good - I was running $1.5k under EV (and have gotten in 200 games so I'm on pace volume-wise). My cost of living is just over 2k/mo, so w/o any padding in my life roll, break-even stretches can = busto, and good months can = b/e.

Mich P Rich :: Wat else to do on a Sat night?

Been a while since I blogged so quick update; still @ 100's and 200's, 4-manning mostly @ 160's tho. Honestly has been a pretty crappy couple months poker-wise just because I fell into bad-habits as far as staying motivated and disciplined as my own boss. Volume has been a huge fail for me basically. I'd definitely consider myself lucky to still be able to be making a living off of this, considering halfway thru June I realized I had been slacking big-time and my roll would be so sickly dented when it came to withdraw-to-pay-the-bills time that I would be @ 50's and crying for mercy come July. Luckily, the day I chose to attempt to crush for profits, I actually DID crush for profits- 2.5k @ the 160's teaming, so I freerolled my bills for the month. <- subtle brag -hax

Mich P Rich :: PROPS!

 So I've always said since getting into poker that I wasn't gonna be one to be prop betting constantly like an action junky... But I'm realizing how entertaining it can be now when you have a few bucks and some money-hungry friends lol.

 So, March/April is coming to a close and it's been a struggle for sure. I'm at my parents house all this week so I decided to set up my office and try to grind my way to unstuck for the month, which started yesterday morning (way early for me; 9am). It was my first time pairing up with someone in 4man's (my buddy thath thuper) and we started at 80's and crushed, so that was good. I'm definitely going to be doing that often now for more side-action.. It's always nice to try new formats and switch up game-types when you're down-swinging too - I've also been dabbling here and there in PLO - mostly 6m cash and rush, and a few HUSNGs - and I feel like the transition really isn't that hard and games are currently softer than NLHE.

Watched the Celts lose to Miami in game 4 - kind of gross to see D Wade completely dominate the last XX minutes for an epic comeback/win, but I doubt the series is going past 5.
