Here we are, at the end of July, and I just got a call from Rodney McKay telling me that he finally figured out how to dial the 9th Chevron - apparently some kind of a power source is all that's missing.  If everything works out fine, I will be back on Destiny soon ...

The last 10 weeks, I have been playing poker almost full time, being a student of Mersenneary's Fast Track program.  Some of you may now ask me whether the program was a success for me.  Well, that depends on how you see it.

Money-wise, certainly not.  After paying for all the coaching and stuff, my BR is now at about the point where it was at the beginning - except that I'm now SuperNova and have 180k FPP's (planning to save them up till I 250k for that $4k bonus), so that's worth something.

Skill-wise.  Definitely !  This was by far the single most profitable investment I've ever made in my entire poker career.  It's really amazing to look back at where I've been when I started in late May and where I am right now.  Mersenneary is such a great teacher and he has also been such a great mentor to me to help me through this difficult time.

7755 VPP later

We're halfway through January, and I already have enough FPP's to maintain Platinum status on Stars, and I'm right on track with my SuperNova plans.  Strangely, I don't even feel like I put a lot of volume in this month, so I can probably target August for SN.

Don't want to be too much results oriented, but here's my graph for this year:

2011 in BB

2011 in Chips

I'm break-even money-wise, but as you can see, I'm a lot below equity if you look at the BB graph, and about at EV in chips.

However, the most important thing is that I'm currently feeling very confident about my play, and I think I've been taking the correct decisions.  I'd be much more worried if it were the other way around, ie. running above equity.

2010 Reflections

So that's about it - the end of 2010 - a year with many ups and downs, both in personal life and in poker.

A year, where I played on so many different poker sites, got almost bust so many times, then grinded myself back up again.  When I look back now, I must admit that I never had any real edge in this game throughout most of the year, since I simply played too much just for entertainment and distraction, with the TV running in the background, being way too tired after a long and hard day in the office, with a beer in my hand, etc., etc., etc.

December

It's been two months now, and things are finally going back to normal again.

I didn't play very much during the first 6 weeks, and when I did, then it was just for distraction and fun - while being too emotionally unstable to actually focus on the game.  So I ended up playing much lower than I normally would and tilted off a lot of money to low-stakes fish.

About two weeks ago, I finally started to play my normal game again, but also spend a lot of time watching videos.

I also watched this one again: http://www.husng.com/content/cog-dissonance-video-44-importance-focus, and now I'm really following its advice - not focusing enough on my opponent has always been a major problem for me in the past, and it's definitely an era where I still need to improve on a lot.
