Steady As She Goes

I’ve had a good 2009 thus far. My total profit for the month of April was $9,637.00, which brings my total for 2009 to $34,127.00. Not bad. But I know that I can do better. I have been asked by several people how many games/hours I play per month in order to achieve my profits, and for the past four months I honestly don’t know. I will try to keep track of all of that for the month of May so that anyone who is curious will be able to look over that information. Because I will have more time to devote to poker in May, I am setting a goal of $13k for the month. I know that if I really put in the effort, $13k is possible in the $100 regular speed level.

Remember The Basics

Well I haven’t written since my first blog which was so long ago. I have been very busy finishing the semester and getting ready to graduate, as well as getting things together in order to move into my new apartment. I found a 2-bedroom about 12 miles outside of Pittsburgh. It is in a nice suburban setting and my girlfriend is so happy because it has a really nice pool and is about 30 seconds from the mall. Other than that, I have been trying my best to keep pace and play enough games to remain comfortably profitable.

Here are my 2009 results thus far:

January: $10,280
February: $9,570
March: $4,640 (played first week of March only)
April: $4,100 (as of 4/12)

Total: $28,590

Not bad considering that I was at the $30 and $50 range until this month. I’m trying to move into $100 and $200 heads up games (not turbos) exclusively but have had a pretty bad week this past week. Sometimes it seems like I will hit a stretch where everything is going wrong. I am tempted to retreat back into lower stakes or change my gameplay even whenever I am playing solid.

First Blog

So this being my first blog and all, I should probably introduce myself. I am 22 years old and live in Indiana, Pennsylvania. People always get the town of Indiana confused with the state of Indiana. So let’s just say that in a few months, I will be living and working in Pittsburgh. I’m in my last semester of college (accounting – yes I know it’s boring).
