Still can't move up.

Over the past 2 days of moving back down to the 6.25 turbos, I grinded out 20 buy-ins, was running good and playing good.

Moved up to the 11s again and got crushed by loosing 7 of 8 games right off the bat. It getting comical how bad I run in these. Again, looking at the hand histories I am happy with my play, a couple of instances I could have extracted slightly more value and there where one or two times where I made a little loose calls in small pots.

My favorite hand went as follows:

Villan 3 bets

I 3bet with AdKd

Villan Flats

Flop:
5d8dKh

Having TPTK and flush draw I think this is a fairly solid hand. He bets (near 100% cbetter)

I reraise and he shoves

I call and he flips 10/10

turn is a 10

river is the Kd

The Kd I think is just full tilt messsing with me. We will give you worthless trips! haha.

Move up Failure.

I moved up from the 6.25 turbos to the 11 turbos on FT.

Things started out bad by losing my first 2 games, but I managed to recover and had a small breakeven stretch. Then I hit a 10 buy in downswing. Looking at the hand histories, only a single game I felt I made a questionable call. 7 of the games where early pre-flop shoves in which I was ahead in every one. AK < A5, 99 < 22, AA < 910s, 88 < 44, AK < AQ, KK < 37o.

By the end I was not in the right mindset, when I shoved KK and got called by 37o I felt like I was going to lose. The flop comes 773 and I fell to the floor laughing at my misfortune.

Then a couple of suck outs for the remaining part of the loses + 1 tilted game where I called a shove with A10s from a tight player who had JJ.

Casino Tournament (not husng)

Casino Tournament

Played a $40 + 5 at local casino tonight. Structure is a little crazy in that the blinds go up every 20 minutes, and starting stacks are 3000 chips. Its more or less a shovefest after the first hour or so of play. Got off to a great start getting to 5000 chips within the first orbit after UTG minraised, the entire table called (10 players before me!) and I get AKs. I make a big raise (I think it was about 10x the BB) and everyone folds which is what I expected. Did not want to play an 11 way pot, I have no clue how to play that anyway and I figured if I got called I was at worst at a coinflip.

Poker is good today.

This week I have moved from the $5+.25 regular speed games at FT to the 6 + .25 and 6 + .40 4mans.

Ive played about 50 games at these levels and I am running very well. I am getting in with the best hand almost always and fortunatley it is holding. My ROI in these 50 games is over 50, which is insane, but I am not complaining. I am enjoying the turbo format more so then the regular speed, for whatever reason so far (again, small sample) the turbo players at this level seem to be LESS aggressive. This doesn't make much sense to me, but its working. Ive really changed my playing style the last few weeks to a far more aggressive style rather then the small ball approach that I used to get past the $2 games.

Looking back, I think the small ball approach worked very well at the $2 level as 90% of games where just a shove fest and rarely got to the third blind level.

Tilt Control

Today has been my most successful day of playing HUSNGs yet. I was up 13 buy ins at the highest point. I was feeling really good about my play and the cards where running well.

A good friend of mine wanted to play some 6-max, so I figured I would give 6max another shot. Second hand in I get pocket 10s and raise, I get 2 callers. Flop comes 10s Ks Ad. I raise and get reraised so I push all in. Called by As 2s, turn 3s and river a blank. One buy in done, reload.

About 3 hands later I get K10 on the button and everyone is limping. Being out of position at a table that would call any raises I limp in. Flop comes A K K rainbow. One thing leads to another and I get it all in. Villan turns over KJ, and river comes J then a blank. Second buy in done, reload.

Played for another half hour and made back about a 1/2 BI at least. A little tilted, but I actually felt my play was fairly good.
