Recent Results and New Theory

The last month has been solid, I made about 5.6k, with another 1k in rakeback.

Also 3 of my students made it on to the $36-$100 sharkscope leaderboard each one of them making at least 10k last month includng rakeback.

So congrats to those guys, I hope they all go on to make big dollars.

Also I had one student who wasn'i winning at the micros, and we finally managed to turn his results around and he's winning at 4% over the last 1k games. Obviously nothing spectacular, but its nice not to have any losing students at all.

I've been working on a new piece of hyper theory which is really turning out to be successful, so if you're interested in coaching, hit me up!

cheers

Paul

Root Down

I've decided to take a break from hypers and go back to my roots. Well I guess my roots are really reg speeds, but I'm gong to play more turbos on Stars because the structure is pretty similar. I used to have good results in the regs on FTP:

and I'm having similar results on the turbos on Stars:

So I figure I'll stick to turbos for a while. The main point of the post though is to think about why I do well at the slower speeds and only have an ev adjusted roi of about 2.5% on the hypers. My thoughts are that the hypers tilt me a lot, causing me to play poorly and throw away a lot of my edge too often. This doen't really happen that much in reg/turbos.

No doubt in a month I'll be missing the hypers and back in the $100 lobbies to annoy you all, but for now it's turbo time.

Whining about my Giraffe

These are my last 3k $100 HT games on Stars. Breakeven as far as $ go and about 70 buyins below ev. I hear some people actually run above ev! Must be nice :D

I've run this way on Stars for about 15k games now.. it's really getting to me.

On the up and up

I haven't blogged for quite a while, but things have been going a lot better lately.

I started mixing some turbos in with my hypers and so far I'm running good at them. The action isn't great but you can still get decent money at them if you run good :D

These are my turbo results so far:

I took a stake from Primo to play the $100 hypers as I wasn't rolled for them thanks to my tilt monkey antics. Now I'm forced to play well as I don't want to let him down. things are going well, half way through the stake:

This month I'm up a little less than 3k.

I hope you all run good.

Oh No :-(

Well the whole idea behind the challenge was to stop me tilting. That didn't work too well as I just tilted off most of my profits for the month 2 tabling regs until 3am and running like death. I'll give up on the challenge and just have a good think about how best to solve this problem. At the moment I'm feeling pretty low, all the poker skills in the world can't help you if you tilt away all your profits.
