Borg7: Sup

Yo,

I've had a cold for about a week now, so I couldn't hit up the gym and I feel pretty shitty about that. So today I'm gonna go again because I feel pretty fine, hopefully I won't die.

Anyway, yesterday I won 5.5k€ and 17 games in a row which I think is my biggest winning streak. I haven't grinded yet today...would be epic if I could continue the winning streak to 20 games.

The past few days I stopped sitting 200€s and sat 1ks 100%. I've actually got some very good 1k action and I ran okay.

In 9 days I'm going to Montreal because I can't find an apartment in Munich... I will drop by Vegas to visit some friends sometime this month prob.

Borg7: Margin of Error

Lately, I've come to realize how small the margin of error in poker is. You have to fight for every tiny inch and gradually improve...inch by inch by inch.

In the end, the sum of all those tiny edges you found will make the fucking difference between success and failure.

If you fuck up that one out of 100 hands, you're being weak. It'll cost you a decent chunk of your ROI, which will result in higher variance, which will result in less confidence, which will result in more whine and worse play. It's a vicious cirlce that i see a lot of players get trapped in.

The point I'm making is that there is no space in poker to make stuipid mistakes, you gotta focus 100% in all of your games and lead a healthy lifestyle that allows you to do so. It's something we all struggle with and have to try to master.

Anyway, my new stats/graph as of now:

Borg7: Update

Hello,

I'm back in Germany which I'm happy about because Thailand was getting a bit annoying. That place is just really dirty, traffic is terrible and almost all women are pretty unattractive except the Swedish chicks at the Swedish bar/club.

I don't regret going though, it was a great experience overall. My roommates were great, the house was cool and the nature was stunning.

Anyway, here's my updated graph/stats (in € not USD):

Borg7: Discipline and Thailand

In this blog post, I'm going to spew random thoughts on discipline and how it relates to success in poker and life.

Being disciplined starts on a small scale things like going to the gym every day. If you can't even do shit like that because you tell yourself that you're too busy/tired/not in mood/it's raining/muscles are sore, then you're being a bitch. If you don't go to the gym that one day for no real reason, you will use the same set of rationalizations again and again. And if you can't even be disciplined enough for something like this, how is that going to translate to bigger things like doing well in your job or getting in good volume at poker?

It's pretty obvious that you're not going to achieve anything with that type of attitude regardless of how smart/talented you are.
