Turning Stone Wins Battle vs New York State

Crossposted from Risk Oriented... thought maybe some of you would be interested. See, progress does happen!

Today, Turning Stone's legal battle with the New York State legal system resulted in a win for the casino. This should end the long legal battle about whether or not Turning Stone will be allowed to operate in New York State.

The Turning Stone legal battle has been going on for over a decade, and they have continued to operate. Let's review the history of Turning Stone. In 1993, the Oneida Nation decided they wanted a casino somewhere between Niagara Falls and Atlantic City. They repurchased land that they claimed previously belonged to the Nation, and then asked for sovereignty, as many casinos have in the past.

the start of another grind

hi! this is frogsie - a degen soul with some skills in low to medium stakes heads up sngs and multi table tournaments.

dont think im that special now by saying that but the fact is that playing heads up sngs i can run money up pretty pretty darn fast when not tilting, having an awful downswing or playing out of my bankroll. i can beat any stakes below 115s on stars without a problem, putting in a volume but having a sustainable ROI aswell.

so... long story short...

my current situation is as follows:
i have 55 dollars to my name on pokerstars and thats basically.... well, i cannot reload.

i need to grind that shit up to $600 by the 26th of march. i know this is only some buyins for the most of you, but for me in the financial situation i have grinded myself in it's a lot.

Cog Dis, You a Joke!

This thread was pretty gold http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/58/heads-up-nl/cognitive-dissonance-yo...

Anyways, going to Vegas Monday-Friday, if any husng guys are out there, shoot me a blog post or 2p2 PM.

We also just hired ITRIED2WARNU, a very talented $200-300 buyin regular on Full Tilt.  His first video will be up sometime today.  Make sure to give him a welcome and give us some detailed feedback on his first few videos.  Thanks.

Running Super Hot

Ok, I'm back - and if you look at my stats (IchoTolot on Merge), you'll also see that I'm currently running super hot :-)

I'm up almost 20 buy-ins this week, but unfortunately I'm also running above equity, so it's possible that I'll face another downswing really soon. However, I'll take that as a chance to work on my game and improve it - maybe I can beat variance by increasing my ROI.

One thing in particular I want to do is focusing more on my opponents.  I'm just thinking, whenever you play someone and then after the match, you can't answer a few simple questions about this opponent - for instance, how often is he cbetting, does he play his draws passively, etc. - then something went wrong.  That's usually a clear indication of being on auto-pilot - and auto-piloting won't help you that much on the $50's.

ACES15: Not running so hot

I started the month with 2 goals. More volume and enough profit to move up to the 10's.

So far I've already played half as many games as last month so thats good.

My results however, haven't been the same. So far I'm down 8 buy ins for the month which I understand is minor in the grand scheme of things but still frustrating none the less. I'm a little shellshocked with some of the bad beats and coolers I've taken over the past couple of days.

So a few revised goals for myself...keep the volume up and ride this out til the cards start falling my way.

Not trying to bitch because I know its part of the game. I'm about to go on a heater I can feel it!

Discussion on Tilt

I’ve gotten many requests to post my 2010 poker results from my fans, as well as another strategy article, so here goes:

Long time no post. I’ve had a solid start to 2010 thus far. Heads up, I played 844 games in 2010 at the $36-$100 level for a total profit of $8,134. I also went 8-5 at the $200 level for a total profit of $470.

In 2010 multitable tournaments, I have been doing very well. I only played 3 live tournaments and somehow managed to cash in all 3, with 2 final tables and 1 win.

January 27, 2010- Finished 59th out of 1100 players in Borgata’s event #14 for $453

ACES15: Feb Results, March Goals, P90X

I finally took the plunge this past month and purchased the beginer pack and more recently upgrading to a full membership. While I was disapointed with my volume I am happy with the results and the way my game is progressing. I'm having trouble getting my sharkscope graph on the blog so if anyone can help with that I'll load that but my results were as follows...

100 Games $1 Avg Profit $5 Avg Stake 26% Avg ROI $137 Total Profit

My goals for next month is obviously to try and get some more games in but its tough when working full time and having other stuff going on. Without being too results orrientated I want to get my roll up to $450 and start playing the $10s. I need to win about $220 during the month which I think is definately possible for me.
